Got precip yesterday evening for the first time since July 30. At first a t-storm formed just to my south and produced a couple of close range lightning strikes though I didn't get any rain. Then I got 0.29" of rain from a weaker t-storm that formed later. Looking like I may be getting into a pattern of more frequent convection starting this weekend.
It got up to 97F on Tuesday which has been the hottest temp so far of the summer. Got up to 96F today with a bit less humidity. Next week high temps look mostly in the low 90's.
Cool the past two days, high of 73 today and 70 yesterday (23 and 21C) with dew points in the mid 50s (12C). Very comfortable weather. 1 more cool day tomorrow before it's back to normal.

Through the first half of August (1-16) we're averaging 1.2 F (0.7 C) above normal (89.4/65.4 vs 87.3/65.0). Forecast for the next few days looks quite hot, TWC going as high as 97 F (36.1 C) for Tuesday, so that anomaly will certainly go up in the next few days. Looking like we're getting a cool down late next week though, Friday has an 82 F high according to both TWC and NWS, lows around 60 F.

We've had some very fall-like days lately. Today was no exceptions, this morning was a chilly 10C when I got up with a ton of wind, and the clouds in the sky resembled those we get in Sept/Oct more than August. Can definitely feel the end of summer creeping up on us.
Everything in the city is still fully green, but out in the countryside there are a number of trees starting to turn yellow now.
Oh man why does peak foliage have to be in August year after year??? Man it's way too warm here, I wanna move somewhere colder where peak foliage is in late July instead
Heat wave coming up, though not nearly as strong as the one in July. Mid 90s predicted for the next four days (94 F today, 96 F tomorrow, 94 F Tuesday, 94 F on Wednesday per NWS) with heat index values around 105 F for tomorrow.
Our 90+ counter for this year is up to 40 now (as of yesterday), will be up to 44 by the end of the heat wave, maybe we hit 50?
79f dewpt at JFK right now. That's the 2nd or 3rd time this season, but I don't think they've hit 80 this summer. Luckily I live much further north where the current dp is a slightly less gay 72F.
Areas a bit further south than me have high temps as high as 99 F (37.2 C) for tomorrow, I think it's possible somewhere hits 100 F (37.8 C).
90 F with a 69 F dew point as of 6 pm, high temp so far today has been 94 F, which is what was predicted. Some rain being reported at Dulles but nothing here.
