I took this one at solar noon so it's within 0,1° of the highest sun angle possible here. It felt super high and blue and bright to me, even if it's polar in the big picture. A windy 15°C right by the sea.

Today I had the first real thunderstorm since when I moved here in Grenoble. I didn't manage to take pictures while raining because I had other stuff to do, anyway here there are some clouds just after: After 7 pm the sky started to clear, and we also had a rainbow: Edit: Just heard my sister, she is just north of Turin right now, a thunderstorm with hail just passed over them, and it looks like they had a rainbow too. They also send me a picture of it: Precipitation map of Turin area: Legend: red = hail orange = rain + hail green to yellow = rain (progressively heavier) blue = snow (in this map, only on high mountain tops) violet = snow + rain

Today was such a nice sunny day, so much to make me say: "finally some stable weather, not a cloud in the sky!" Then, at 6 pm when leaving the lab, some funny clouds started to pop up in the sky: Then, at 8 pm, I heard the first thunder ("oh, again?"), and I mostly ignored it for the following half an hour, before opening the window and seeing: ^ on some displays is clearer than in others, but it is actually a double rainbow.

I was in Vancouver for a few days last week, I had quite a busy schedule so I didn't get around to taking many pictures but here are a few that I did get. The weather was fairly mixed, with the sun coming out pretty frequently despite fairly cloudy conditions, and temperatures mostly in the upper teens Celsius, fairly typical for early June. You didn't even say hi to rpvan, deneb, and I? Was it breezy/windy in your experience? Nice pics by the way. Alas, far too tight of a schedule for any meetups! Is deneb around these days? I'm pretty sure he signed up to this forum but I never see him. Too bad, I liked his posts on CD. It was definitely not windy or breezy by my standards, that's one of the few aspects of Vancouver's climate that I seriously miss out here. Saskatchewan is far too windy for my liking.

A somewhat unexpected thunderstorm came up this evening after I thought everything was over with. The airport is up to 1.51" though I probably just have a few hundredths of an inch. Dissipating now. Some pics I took of the storm clouds with the sun setting.

backlog of biking photos. from a week and a half ago. Near Greenfield, Massachusetts. Annoying barrier to make sure cars don't go on the bike path. Opening is too narrow for bicycles going at a good speed, kinda unsafe on the downhill side. Barrier even narrower from a local sitting in the way on the right. Also, why da faq did they build a bike path bridge rated to take a weight of one ton? Guess they wanted emergency or official vehicles to have access while preventing other car traffic from using it. Still seems a waste of money sweaty me at an overlook above Greenfield seeing the Green River is an almost guaranteed way to cheer me up. Someday I'll camp along it. love the forest up here clear blue sky against the green good volume; not flooded, not low; probably average for early June the house with changing words of wisdom gravel roads; making sure to use the correct term Speagles84 . This is in Vermont but very close to the border also still in Vermont think I'm back in Massachusetts, rolling hills crossing the Conneticut River. was tired and watched the ripples

more old photos; from a trip to Mt. Greylock almost two weeks ago (June 9th and 10th). Backyard buddha pond I always stop by fire tower I always stop at. A bit of haze looking down to the valley above the Deerfield valley countryside Yahya Sinwar would like ? Or maybe not looking at the front yard sign steep descent down to the Deerfield River where I dropped 1200 feet in a few miles. Then did a hike up Negus Mountain, overlooking the river. First views steep trail felt tiring with little sun and the high sun. Was in the low 80s with low humidity; so not really that hot but enough to make hiking in the sun feel like more work. Greylock in the distance Trail was frequently rocky interesting ripples on the rocks Deerfield River with my bike [/img] clouding over, looking into North Adams natural bridge in North Adams ugly channelized river old industrial buildings with Greylock behind

Cincinnati skyline in the morning: Lots of people were tailgating at the end of the runway to watch practice for the Dayton Air Show. It turned out to be a great day, sunny with a high of 79ºF (26ºC) and a light breeze. Drove by where the May 28 tornado crossed I-75 just north of downtown Dayton. For about half a mile there were tree limbs split apart and significant damage to most houses. It was rated EF-4. Here's what it looked like before: goo.gl/maps/RipZkYHY77TkwgsY9
Downtown Cincy on the way back: Some neat clouds back in Lexington ahead of storms

Pics from a run on Thursday, shortly after 9 pm. Proud bird. Noctulescent clouds yesterday (pic around from 11:30 pm, too bad I had only my phone). They were visible on the northern horizon until 2 am.

Interesting, ferns die in winter here. Do most die in summer there?
