I also went to Muir Woods and Yosemite for a brief time when I went to San Francisco. Didn't do much because I had limited time with a tour group, but I still have some pictures: Some redwood trees from Muir Woods: A huge dead giant sequoia tree in Yosemite. The trail passes through the middle of the tree trunk. This is what it looks like under the tree trunk: The view at Artist Point in Yosemite. Quite a lot of stuff is visible from here, such as El Capital, Half Dome, Bridalveil Falls, etc. And Lower Yosemite Falls: And some photos from West Seattle almost a month ago: Pictures from San Francisco city are in this post: cdweather.boards.net/post/99012

Beautiful skies wildcat. I dont wanna post too many pics till I get home but here are a few from the first day: View from Bush Pilots Monument Not sure what this was but it jumped like a grasshopper Urban forest Urban park...I guess This is where a friendly drunk indigenous woman was yelling about her lost phone Moron Aurora Geosciences is in this building. Looks kinda like an Antarctic station. Place with benches. Looked nice. Niven Lake at 8:25pm Mosquito-infested trail at the lake. Got attacked lol Nice looking black spruce Mosquitoland Low sun but not setting till ~23:40. Most of the landscape in YK is a mix of bare rock, short trees (birch, black spruce, jack pine), short grass, and lichens. Too early in the year for mushrooms but they'd show up in August/September.

Try being out at local midnight, ans you'll hopefully understand why I'm so elated about the dusky midnights up here in the summer

An epic storm cloud from this evening. I was sitting in the backseat on the driver's side and got the first shot easily enough on my side but had to lean over to snap the other two shots through the passenger side window, not an easy feat while the car is moving but I managed to get surprisingly good shots of it nevertheless. Anyone know what this type of cloud is called? I see it all the time in storm chaser photos throughout the province, they're quite common during severe weather but I haven't seen them in person all that often. Looks kind of like a shelf cloud but I'm not sure that that's necessarily it...

Dump of June pictures: Start of June, early summer green. Middle of June, a bit darker green with a nice variety of clouds. Variable and mixed clouds are my favorite, even better than cumulus or full sunshine. Flat overcast is my least favorite. Peaceful summer evening sounds. Light fog. The trees in the background are about 1/4mile (400m) away. June ended with a few great storms. This one had heavy rain, pea-sized hail, and then a perfect double rainbow! Sorry the picture doesn't do it justice. Another one started with some ominous storm clouds. Looks like a giant animal trying to take a bite out of the world. Soon after, gusty winds came and then heavy rain and some thunder.

Shame you couldn't stay longer and do some hiking. I would have been a very angry teenager if I had to leave that fast.

Not much luck with the weather lately, hard to believe it was a record warm June just one week ago. This was the supposedly "clear" lunch hour yesterday, resulting in a delayed bike ride already prior to leaving town:

They used to be everywhere in Kansas City, but QuikTrip (another station chain) ate them all. I think there's still one in Lawrence.

One of the two main kinds of grass here has started getting yellow on a lot of lawns. Don't know why really because it hasn't been all that dry really. The other type of grass is very green though. Some cool electric blue lighting on the clouds a few days ago Stark lighting Don't have much to show. Don't do much except work and if I go outside it's in my local area which you've seen before. Soon going to Kebnekaise though and then Gotland island so you'll get more pictures from that

There used to be a chain called PDQ (pretty darn quick) my parents went to all the time but they were bought by Kiwk Trip. Apparently gas stations don't know how to spell "quick".
