The SRC finally released their July stats after nearly two weeks, so here's the Saskatoon weatherbox with sun hours included... sunshine was just a hair below average, as I expected (normal is 308.8).

Record high of 33.1C on an island in the sea at 66N link was off the chart before the heatwave in late July, probably even more than 35C in Mosjøen. And maybe as much as 42C in Paris?
Vardø further NE didn't even record a single high of 20C link

Dry and sunny, and apart from a week's warmth, cold.
Did Vaasa just for interest, and the high-sun average highs haven't been really different from the cucks in Umeå. The lows are of course a completely different story.

Well the Klementtilä station seems to be very central and I'd guess the warmer lows is mostly due to UHI and not being an airport station. Surprised how similar they are considering how unsimilar Umeå and Kronoby were. Didn't Kronoby have a 21'C average high in June?

The station being only 2.5 km from the shore is probably the bigger reason.

The station being only 2.5 km from the shore is probably the bigger reason. In a park as opposed to what lol? Vaasa doesn't have parks large enough to negate much of the UHI lol. On FMI's open-data service, the dot on the map seems to be even closer to the city center than the location that comes up whek googling Klementtilä. Besides, there didn't seem to be any difference in seasonal lag whatsoever between Vaasa and Umeå

Don't really see any parks in Vaasa larger than Observatoriekullen. Do you know what park the Vaasa station is in?

I don't think so. Where did you get that from?

I wish met agencies were better at disclosing exactly where their stations are.

Okay, nvm, it seems the station was at the one place blocked by a tree in the first image

Now that is a terrible location for an AWS—right astride a carpark + asphalt.

Now that is a terrible location for an AWS—right astride a carpark + asphalt. Right by a volleyball court too. Imagine the ball hitting a sensor and causing an error or a weird reading.

Well then it's ignored.
