Pics from Saturday. It was 28°C and hadn't rained for more than a month. Autumn crocuses, parched grass and dead leaves: It was in the park of this château: Mah trees are browner than yours! 'tis autumn.

Saskatoon looks pretty darn nice, despite the surrounding swathes of endless prairies.

Had some nice weather today, 15'C and sunny, so I decided to bring my camera out to my favorite place in the area, the arboretum a couple kilometers inland of the city limits. The closest forest to me, on my way there. I like this forest. Mostly green still. Down by the riverside agricultural fields there were more fall colors though. Gets quite cool here at night "Avenue" with a bunch of linden and maple, probably planted in the early 1900's. Very beautiful and cozy in there I'm glad I went here in September and not October because Yahya Sinwar says that even Stockholm barely has any leaves left in October River was very still. No wind to speak of. Approaching the rapids and the surrounding arboretum. Entering the arboretum Went and picked myself some tasty kiwi Arboretum and the manor that's usually a café during the summer but which I believe was closed this year because of lack of owners? Idk. Seen from the rapids. Rapids seen from the rapids Rapids and birches as seen from the manor hill. The birches there seem to be a week or two away from peak foliage. I love the arboretum trails. Very beautiful and peaceful. Some views from the trail: Upturned tree with the most colorful mud I've seen in Sweden. This is supposed to be northeastern NA. Idk how much it looks like eastern NA. Problem is there are still our native trees in all of the different vegetation regions, like that massive towering aspen over there. Speaking of massive, idk if it shows on camera but I've never seen silver willows as large as these ones. I have no comment on this one, just thought it looked nice I was going to go and lie in this hammock and take in the beautiful weather and scenery, but I noticed there was a girl lying behind the bushes to the center-left of the picture. Explored further upstream along the river, outside of the arboretum. Some greener parts there. And again, nice mirror river, just a few hundred meters upstream of the rapids. The north-facing, shaded side side seems a lot greener My kind of road Sunlight started getting noticeably more golden by 4pm Had MMA practice soon so I unfortunately I had to start heading back. For some reason I don't really like rowans. Makes no sense. They've got nice foliage, they look kinda exotic compared to the rest of our subarctic vegetation, and their red berries look really nice in fall. Look almost like flowers. Do I need a comment for every picture? Sometimes I just think they look good ok? Pretty much the same picture as in the beginning of the album, but this time with a lower sun. Which do you prefer? River was still still And eventually I made it back to the fields near my home and then home and then to mma and then home and then I edited these images, posted them, and the rest is not history yet.

Because of the amazing feedback I got from the last album and because the weather was nice today too, I decided to head out today as well, this time east towards the center. Headed to another of my favorite forests in the city, this time actually in the city. Church After I was done with the forest I headed into the residential areas. Saw one of the most vibrant orange trees I've ever seen. (I suppose that's just an average tree foliage in NE) Downtown spaceship Downtown church Also church Some vibrant maples down town Nice graveyard Nice lighting down by the downtown river. Not so nice that this was like 17.30 and not 22.30

Fall colors have not picked up yet. These pictures are from last week, 9/20. Temperature was a warm 79F with a dew point of 60 (26/16C). Current foliage report (26th) says low color. This spot is very colorful compared to most of the area. I think it's all from the smaller bushes though. In the forest, this picture could be from July. And the weather could be July, too. The sun angle is the only difference. A bit of color is visible in this one, but not much. I'm not sure why it looks so washed out. Another shot in the woods. The flag is for a cross country (running) race. Non-weather photos Nnuts: Not sure what this is:

I'm back to Italy for a couple of days for work. When I arrived the panorama was not particularly astonishing (I was sure there was a mountain over there... ) Today it was full of chem-trails instead Extra: praying mantis spotted on a mint plant.

Neat cloudscape this afternoon. A very small isolated shower showed up nearby on radar, but nothing made it to the ground here.

Here there are some pictures from the last week. For a couple of days I was in Tuscany for work, I didn't have much time for visiting but anyway... That's the view on Arezzo we had from the hotel where we were staying. Surprisingly, it didn't rain at all at the end. We also had the time to do a quick tour in Florence center when changing train (we had more than 1h or connection) That's the largest cathedral, Santa Maria del Fiore. It looks like they are progressively cleaning the facade, the white marble is much whiter than the last time. That's Santa Maria Novella instead, just outside the train station. Then I stayed at my village for a couple of days, I took some pictures when going to pick up some pears from an old family tree. ^ the tree was planted by grandpa's grandpa, according to dad it is at least one century old. It's also much higher than how it looks in picture, the lowest branches are well above my head. ^ we had a 4 m stick to reach the fruits, but even like that we barely managed to pick the ones in the lowest half of the tree. ^ that's what we collected. You can see that this is not the typical pear, it's a local variety called "martin sec" which is harder than most pears and which is perfect for cooking. They are particularly good cooked in red wine. Some scenery around: ^ all that mountain is supposed to look green in this period of the year, while it is brown/grey as in the middle of winter. That's because of the fire of two years ago, almost all the trees on that side of that mountain burned down during a large fire and it will take a lot before new trees replace them.

Another few images from the Arctic from me and by me, around 250 km north of the Arctic Circle. Arctic due to location not due to climate. Mobile phone images so not great quality. This was the look October 1th up there.
