Quite impressive amounts of rain between Genoa and Savona (the map is referred to 24 h, but the most felt after midnight). After works I will look for more details, but the little I read talks about floods etc... Wow! 100mm in a day is a lot of rain, and these places have several times that! It must have flooding. Any mud slides in the mountains? There were a lot of small flooded areas and small landslides (quite a lot in number, but limited in extention). Yesterday evening the most of roads and the railway were operative again, anyway. Looking online, it still below the regional record (but I haven't checked if some single weather station set any new record).

Crunch41 thanks for the very detailed post! That storm was certainly a whopper, although a bit disappointing nowhere got to 3+ feet of snow, but 29" from one storm is impressive on it's own, probably about half or more than half of the seasonal annual snowfall totals just from one storm! North Dakota has certainly had some wild weather this year. From the intense cold in February, huge blizzard back in April, record rainfall and now this intense blizzard. Right now it's mild and gloomy outside, 57 F (13.9 C) with a 49 F (9.4 C) dew point and cloudy. Not gonna warm up at all as we have some rain moving in, and that'll keep the temps down for today (predicted high of only 60 F (15.6 C) for today). Next few days look nice and cool, and Friday night is looking like it has a shot at our first frost (predicted low of 36 F (2.2 C), but if it overperforms like a couple of our nights did this week, we could have our first freeze).

52 F (11.1 C) this morning and quite breezy outside, won't warm up at all today with a predicted high of only 57 F (13.9 C) with very strong winds for 25-35 mph, gusting to over 45 mph at times. Love windy days like this.

Rainstorm came through the last 2 days bringing 0.59” (15 mm) yesterday and another 0.59” (15 mm) so far today.
It was all shitty moderate, consistent rain though—the worst kind of weather.
There were some nice windy, cold, cloudy weather today as long as some drizzle, both of which I love in fall.

A chilly day for us today as well, first 50s high of the season and cloudy and very windy all day: w1.weather.gov/data/obhistory/KIAD.htmlTomorrow night has a decent chance of seeing our first freeze, predicted low is 34 F (1.1 C). Will definitely have frost at the very least.

Cooler than expected here today with a high of 65F. Stayed fairly cloudy. It got down to 47F last night.
Warming up this weekend with highs in the 80's before another cold front comes on Monday.

Rochester has had a really nice stretch of fall weather lately: 65/42 sunny 64/38 sunny 65/39 sunny 71/39 sunny 58/40 rain 67/37 sunny 54/43 cloudy 61/39 sunny Couldn’t get much better for mid October. Weather in NYC was nice, days were in the upper 60s and had a mix of sun and clouds. Next week looks cooler and wetter before a shot at 70 next weekend. Yeah sounds awesome. Think as good as it can get upstate in mid-October

Now we have had some mild days after one of the coldest and sunniest first half of Oct. Low last night was 7.1*C, but high will not be much warmer, near 10*C.
Interestingly, a blog in Scientific American still has 35.6*C in Laksfors, Northern Norway, as a tied national record, and gives quiet strong criticism to met.no:
** This tied record was dismissed by the Norwegian Met. Service on weak grounds despite being reliable and compatible with nearby stations data and the atmospheric conditions. Confoundingly, the totally unreliable and irregular records set in August 1901—30 years before the installment of the first reliable temperature shelter with a Stevenson Screen in Oslo—have not been dismissed.
They must have mixed up Aug and July 1901, as the 35*C records in July 1901 still are being ok'ed by met.no.

Chilly night in store, forecast low is 30F here
Most of the lowland NE will see their first frosts of the year as well, areas west and north the growing season is already over and doesn't get these advisories anymore (aka me and Steelers). Philly and NYC won't drop enough. I think this graphic shows a fine line of how SEPA and NJ aren't quite the same climate wise as places farther west (excluding the Poconos).

Philly and NYC won't drop enough. I think this graphic shows a fine line of how SEPA and NJ aren't quite the same climate wise as places farther west (excluding the Poconos). New Paltz, NY (80 miles north of NYC; went near there 5-6 times over the summer) has a frost advisory. Looks like most of the Hudson Valley and some of interior New England has had frost yet so getting an advisory ...FROST ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 3 AM TO 9 AM EDT SATURDAY...
* WHAT...Temperatures around 33 to 36 degrees will result in frost formation.
* WHERE...In Connecticut, Southern Litchfield County. In New York, Western Columbia, Eastern Schenectady, Western Dutchess, Eastern Greene, Southern Saratoga, Eastern Albany, Western Rensselaer and Eastern Ulster Counties.
* WHEN...From 3 AM to 9 AM EDT Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Frost could kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left uncovered.
Northampton, MA has a forecast low of 32°F "areas frost" but no advisory cause the growing season is done. Their first freeze was the 5th. Was near Amherst Tuesday morning; felt chilly, 36°F around sunrise Forecast low of 44°F tonight in NYC; 42°F at my parents' on Long Island
