alex992 Here is accuweathers forecast for Thursday into Friday - good for me, not so much for you. 3-6" would be a big storm for this time of year for me. Its the classic interior NE storm. Being on the western side of the Appalachians and at elevation plays a huge role for these storms. Even Boston on the rain/snow line while Western and Northern PA stay snow (even at lower latitudes)

Yesterday's ice chart for the Baltic sea, Bothnian sea and Bothnian gulf. Northernmost Sweden and Finland all the way down to Vaasa have already started to get some sea ice, even though the temperature is rated to be 4'C.

Wow, that's jaw-dropping gorgeous. Where in WV is this? 35 F (1.7 C) with a 32 F (0 C) dew point here as of 7 am, got colder than predicted (predicted low was 39 F / 3.9 C), today is gonna be somewhat mild compared to recent days, but seasonable with a predicted high of 63 F (17.2 C) and sunny skies.

We skipped November and went straight into December... only one high above -5C in the forecast and only one low above -10C. Not much snow yet but we're getting a light dusting every few days it seems so it'll add up quickly.

cold pattern for the next week and a half first ice day for some of upstate NY (of Copake, NY; 110 miles of NYC near the Massachusetts border) right now snowfall totals for thursday's storm looks small. GFS; dark blue = 3 inch of accumulation by friday afternoon

^ I need to move my ass to the higher elevations for sure one of these days.
Kinda disappointingly mild this morning, only dropped to 45 F (7.2 C) overnight when the forecast low was 38 F (3.3 C). Today won't warm up much at all though with a predicted high of 54 F (12.2 C) and sunny skies.

Beautiful but he obviously edited it to exaggerate the colors for insta attention. Still very pretty and I can imagine what it'd look like in real life. That area needs a few more conifers though...

That area needs a few more conifers though... yea probably a bit over-edited. I flip through Instagram and get frustrated the fall foliage all looks perfect when most of my trips this fall have sometimes great, more often meh. Nothing wrong with some editing imo; a lot of photos have more muted colors than real life. iPhone photos (and probably many Androids) make the colors more vivid., too. Make the best loooking image you can; not cheesy of course.

Yeah as long as the edits make it look like it does in real life, then I have no problem with it.

Woke up to 26F and light snow. Quarter inch stuck to the ground, less than I had hoped but still, first accumulating snow in the books

We had our first snowflakes of the season today, but no accumulation but it was nice to see them anyways, we didn't have any snow or even flurries in the forecast for my area so it was a pleasant surprise. Only 38 F (3.3 C) with a 20 F (-6.7 C) dew point, with cloudy skies and a brisk north wind at 3 pm. Feels like January outside.

Today will almost definitely be our first ice day, high so far is just 30 (-1 c).
While I wish our forecast was less consistently cold, the first snowfall always puts me in a great mood and today was beautiful. I love these cold, sunny days with both leaves and snow on the ground. Last 2 days really put me in winter mode.
