First teens of the season here, with a 19 F (-7.2 C) low this morning! Today's high is predicted at 45 F (7.2 C) with mostly sunny skies. So today might end up being the first "ice mean (mean at or below freezing) of the year. Also, our coldest morning in eight months (since March 7th, which had a low of 16 F / -8.9 C).

Ended up getting down to 30F this morning with a good amount of frost. Up to 61F as of 1 PM (dewpoint of 30F) with a clear sky.
Forecast to warm up to 71-72F tomorrow and Monday which is about the normal high. Looking like strong cold front may arrive Monday evening.

Yesterdayβs high of 31 (-1 c) was a new daily record low!
It was also tied for the earliest ice day since 1951 and was the 6th earliest on record.
Very impressive cold.
The low dropped to 21 (-6 c) last night, the coldest since March but not a record.

35 F (1.7 C) with a 27 F (-2.8 C) dew point this morning with cloudy skies, overnight low ended up being 28 F (-2.2 C) and today's high is gonna be much milder than yesterday or Friday with a predicted high of 57 F (13.9 C) and mostly sunny skies. I love this pattern where warm-ups are just seasonable temps and the dominating pattern is well below normal.

Nikkaluokta has reached -30'C two days in a row, -31.6'C yesterday and -34.5'C last night. So far this November they've averaged -9.2/-23.7, almost 10'C below average.
UmeΓ₯ meanwhile has averaged -1.0/-7.3. Normal (91-18): 3.5/-2.5, so about -5'C below average.

Kautokeino mean last 24 hrs: -30.7C, which is 22.5C colder than the 61-90 normal for this date. Insane! That would be like us getting a high of -7 C and a low of -20 C at this time of year (same anomaly), which is really hard to get even in the middle of January. Today was milder than the last couple of days, but still a couple of degrees cooler than normal with a high of 57 F (13.9 C), currently 48 F (8.9 C) and heading down to 36 F (2.2 C) tonight. Tomorrow will be seasonable with a high of 61 F (16.1 C) predicted, last mild day for at least a week, as we have nothing above 50 F (10 C) in the forecast after tomorrow.

Yeah, -32.5'C 24h mean in Nikkaluokta with -28.4/-34.5'C. A couple degrees colder than Kautokeino on average so the deviation is about the same

Got to 45 (7 c) today, warmest itβll be for a week or more.
NWS says 7-14β of snow through Tuesday! I hope it happens. Next week has several highs in the mid 20s forecast, could challenge some daily records.

Overperformed big time last night, forecast low was 37 F (2.8 C), and it ended up dropping to 31 F (-0.6 C) , if this upcoming cold snap could over perform like that, that would be a beautiful thing. Going to warm up big time today though, predicted high is 65 F (18.3 C). Last warm day for a good while.

This week's warmup across Western Canada shows a classic example of the temperature differences across the prairie provinces. While people often consider the whole region to have pretty much the exact same climate, there are actually some pretty significant differences at different times of the year and this is one of them.
For this coming week, Calgary has highs above freezing everyday and climbing up above 10C on the weekend, while Saskatoon starts well below freezing and gradually warms up to just-above-freezing highs on the weekend, and Winnipeg stay below freezing the whole time.
The reverse often happens in the summer during heatwaves, when Calgary might be in the upper 20s C with mild nights while Winnipeg will be into the 30s with tropical humidity and nights in the 20s.
