Through the first ten days of November, we're averaging 55.0/31.7 (12.8/-0.2), which is 6.4 F (3.6 C) below the average of 61.5/37.9 (16.4/3.3) of the first ten days. That anomaly is sure to get bigger in these next several days, wouldn't surprise me if at the end of next week we're at 9-10 F (5-6 C) below average.

The last three nights in Nikkaluokta have had -31.6, -34.5 and -34.6'C lows respectively. The two latter are the coldest early November readings in all of Sweden since 1968.

Low dropped to 36F last night which is 5F above the average of 31F. Today's high is forecasted to hit 51F which is exactly average with rain changing to snow overnight. 2 to 3" of snow is expected and were forecasted to have 2 or 3 ice days after that. Quite chilly for this time of year with lows dipping into the teens and preteens for Wednesday lolol (12F).

eastern Long Island is warmer than NYC; doesn't happen that often. Southern airflow + warmer ocean to the south? If it were the cold front approaching, west should be warmer as the warmest is just to the east of the frontal boundary and the frontal boundary is nowhere near whole northeast

Utsjoki Kevo had a mean of -29.5C yesterday. That's the coldest ever mean during the first third of the month. Records go back to 1962.
Rovaniemi Airport has had its coldest start to November ever recorded since 1959. The mean is currently -11.5C.

51 F (10.6 C) with a 48 F (8.9 C) dew point this morning, rain falling. Winds switched from SW to NW in the past hour so hopefully that means colder air will start ushering in. Today is forecast falling temps, with a chance of snow mixing in with rain later on today. Temps should fall to 35 F (1.7 C) or so by the afternoon, we also have a chance at some heavier snow showers in the late afternoon hours and perhaps a coating of snow on grassy surfaces.

Brr. wonder how cold 850 mb temperatures will get over NY & New England. 60°F at Montauk at sunrise this morning! Temperature going to drop… Here in NYC 55°F this morning, 38°F at sunset, 25°F next morning at sunrise. Big temperature contrast; upstate 90+ miles north already barely above freezing and will slowly drop further up there. Temperatures at 8 am in black, wind speed in red. via www.wrh.noaa.gov/map/

So yesterday ended up with 8.2” (21 cm) of snow.
The airport reported 2.7” (7 cm) more as of 7 AM today. That’s about when the snow stopped after about 31 consecutive hours.
Storm total of 10.9” (28 cm), already above average for November.
Today only got to 26 (-3 c), smashing the daily record by 6 f. Also the earliest high this cold on record.
Forecast low is just 13 (-11 c) tonight with another 1-3” of snow expected and then a high of just 25 (-4 c) forecast tomorrow.
Really epic cold snap.

Today's high was 59 F (15 C) at midnight, with temperatures dropping throughout the day. From about 10 am until 5 pm or so, we had on and off snow flurries and snow showers, which unfortunately didn't accumulate but it was nice to see snowflakes flying around. Very cold for the time of year tonight, 19 F (-7.2 C) predicted, and only a 35 F (1.7 C) high for tomorrow. The rest of the week looks more like December than November. Loving this November chill.

22 F (-5.6 C) with a 16 F (-8.9 C) wind chill here as of 5 am, nice we still have a couple of more hours of getting colder so it could indeed drop into the teens still. Today will be mid-January like with a high of 36 F (2.2 C) predicted with mostly sunny skies and a brisk north wind , tonight's low actually got lowered quite a bit from 22 F (-5.6 C) to 18 F (-7.8 C).

Nice November cold in the eastern US! Meanwhile boke weather here, 20 °C in Belarus... strange ridge, seems like it often happens when it's anomalously cold here, somewhere else is anomalously warm. Though eastern Europe's is probably connected to western Europe cold, not us. Cold Front passed in the morning yesterday, warm southerly air preceded the cold front. so before the drop it was 55°F at sunrise (60°F in eastern Long Island) dropping to 41°F by 10 am. Last 7 days of temperature history, Central Park. inland New England, 85 miles north and 60 mile east. Bradley Airport, 30 miles south of where I used to live (Northampton, MA). Surprised the temperature drop wasn't that much colder than NYC, shows the cold front was potent and more from cold air moving in than radiational cooling. Further west upstate is a lot colder, still in the teens 7 am temperatures this morning

Yeah when Rossby waves are well developed, huge temperature anomalies can oftentimes be observed over the whole Northern Hemisphere. So it's likely that they are all connected.
