Boring weather in the coming week with highs around 10-17C and lows around -2 to +5C with little precipitation. But I'm heading back to NC tomorrow, where the weather should be similar, albeit slightly cooler and rainier.

Dropped to a frigid 7F this morning with 3.5" snow depth (another half inch fell overnight). Really feels like winter now, high of only 25F forecasted

What's happening in Tassie? An extremely hot 11.7C night after a sweltering day.

Epic heat in Australia! Makes me so jealous that nothing even close to that happens here.
Yesterday ended up with 3.5โ of snow and it dropped to 6 this morning, at least thatโs interesting.

Darkest day of the year also appears to be one of the dullest. Mid single-digits and tendencies of fog without it actually breaking out. Any chances of a snowy Christmas are firmly gone as well with only mild air around in high 50's latitude Europe with four days out. Lovely times

Lovely times Jajaja subtropical Scandanvia We currently have 9cm of snow depth, but highs reaching the 40s for the days before Christmas have that in serious jeopardy. Snow and the ground are so cold though, hasn't been above 40 since December 10th.

We have up to 40 cm snow on the ground in Trondheim at some elevation (135 m), and around 10 cm where I live. But some mild days ahead (5-8C).

Predicted low on Thursday night/Friday morning: 13 F (-10.6 C)
Actual Low: 18 F (-7.8 C)
Predicted low for last night/this morning: 16 F (-8.9 C)
Actual Low: 23 F (-5.0 C)
What a joke this climate is. I swear, every climate I live in is anti-interesting weather.
Today has a forecast high of 40 F (4.4 C) with partly cloudy skies, overnight low predicted at 21 F (-6.1 C). I bet we don't drop below 25 F (-3.9 C).

Cold air mass and not from radiational cooling.

Nidaros and omegaraptor mentioned it was really mild yesterday while cold here. grabbed some maps to see what the pattern was. ridge in the mountain west, subtropical moisture flow. Low just north of the UK pulling in mild air to southern Scandinivia. airmass is warm to produce 15ยฐC near San Francisco, above freezing almost to the Canadian border on the west coast. Meanwhile -5 to -10 in the Northeast, southern Scandinivia has 850 mb (about 1300 m) temperatures just above freezing. The slopes of Skรฅla must be melting slush right now, higher elevations too cold and snow too deep. land in southern Scandinavia isn't much warmer than the 850 mb, but the air temperatures over the sea just to the west are about 10ยฐC [/spoiler[

Tornado on Monday that went through part of Alexandria has been rated an EF-3! It was a long track tornado with a length of 62 miles. It came while I was on my lunch break. Wish I would have been at work at the time (I think it passed less than half a mile from the office). Saw a video a co-worker took but the tornado was probably rain-wrapped from that view; you could see debris in the sky. This is what I could see at the time (about 2.5 miles from the track). Here's a video of the tornado early in it's path before reaching Alexandria.
