~20 cm mostly dry powder snow on the ground here now. Probably close to half a meter on the higher altitude part of the city hills.

About 10cm here. Enough to be a nuisance

I've never seen this before. Elevation affecting weather substantially in Missouri! It's just in a model, of course, but it's still cool. That little tiny area of snow is right over the highest large flat area in the state (there are higher points to the northeast of that, but they're points surrounded by valleys, not a high flat plain like this).

Considering it's now December 2nd, and I see no Winter/Summer Discussion Thread (slacking guys, come on!), I'm gonna start the thread.
Currently 39 F (3.9 C) with cloudy conditions here, boring weather this morning. We have a chance of a rain/snow mix later on today however with a high of 44 F (6.7 C).

Another beautiful sunny and snowy day here, a massive improvement coming from a cloudier than average fall.

Remaining mild but dry per wunderground's 10 day forecast. Hopefully it continues to warm up.

Although the sub-freezing season was off to a brutal start at the beginning of November, the second half of November was mostly mild (except for the last few days) and now December is off to quite a decent start as well. Of course this won't last forever, but I'll take every bit of above-average weather that I can at this time of the year.

My maximum reading yesterday did not surpass 5.3ยฐ C; prodigiously cold for the start of "summer"!
Now for some of the records broken at official BOM stations:
I. Cabramurra did not rise above 2.8ยฐ C from 9:00-9:00 AM (December 2nd-3rd), thus beating the 2.9ยฐ C record cold maximum held at the old SMHEA station in December 1969.
II. Thredbo Top Station did not rise above โ1.1ยฐ C, thereby throttling its previous 0.1ยฐ C record.

Yesterday was the first real freezing rain event of the season. High of only 33 (1 c) and 0.71โ of precipitation but only 1.5โ of that was snow, the rest was freezing rain and sleet.
Turned to snow overnight, thereโs ~6โ on the ground now.

Past 5 days at Cabramurra (my nearest BOM station [~200 m higher than me]): Pay extra heed to the anomaly regarding maxima (โ13.7ยฐ C); I will require a freak heatwave to be spared! Also, forgot to mention earlier that Thredbo Top Station's โ1.0ยฐ C maximum on the 2nd was not only its own coldest December maximum, but also Australia's coldest summer maximum ever recorded.

Yesterday ended up with 3.9โ of snow which makes a storm total of 5.4โ (14 cm). Feels like thereโs more than that on the ground though.
Got down to 12 (-11 c) with some radiational cooling, thatโs tied with the coldest of the season.

Today's high in Fennoscandia
Notice the cold air staying put in the valleys of SE Norway giving icedays there while much milder even at higher altitude to the west. For instance, high of 4.6C at Sognefjell (1415 m ASL) while a high of -8.1C at Fรฅvang (200 m ASL) further east.
Also cold in the far NE
