I noticed when compiling the update that I've had totally missed the May -5.5C record low recorded in 1999. And hitting 25C in September in Turku seems like an impossible task these days. 24.7C, 24.6C, 24.5C and 24.5C are the highest during this normal period.

I noticed last time that the NOWData averages and the official normals didn't match. Here is NOWData minus the official normal. The average temperatures are higher in every month, snowfall is higher, the rest is the same.  This next box compares the 1991-2020 average to the 1981-2010 average, both are from NOWData without the NWS adjustments. Record high and low value is the 1991-2020 extreme minus the full POR. A value of 0 means the record was tied or broken in 1991-2020. So far it's getting warmer (+0.4F). April is the only month that is colder so far, and February was the only recent record low.
Winter is about the same for precipitation, spring is wetter, summer is drier. On average, +0.33" wetter.
 The averages: One day in June recorded 0.4 inches of snow but the low that day was in the 60s so it must be hail. It doesn't snow in June.

For Trondheim AP, January has warmed 2.2C from 61-90 to 1991-2020.
July has warmed 1.3C. September has also warmed 1.3C and will get mean 11.1C.
On the coast at my latitude, some stations will have average low above freezing in winter.

Here's Umeå airport so far for 1991-2020  Here's the comparison with 1961-1990 at the airport and the more central station (none of them were active for the whole period which is why I'm using both)   Umeå seems as wet or very slightly wetter in most months, except for Sep where it's been a lot drier during the new period. January has warmed the most with almost 3'C, and February has become the coldest month instead of January. June has become colder however, and October is unchanged. In general, we can see that the second half of the vegetational growth period (Jul-Sep) has warmed much more than the first half (May-Jul) |

It's been three months since I last posted this, so here're the updates for August to October. I'll post the trends later, but fall has warmed the least or even cooled slightly in both places IIRC.  |
