Ex-cyclone Esther has had a very wierd path, beginning in the Gulf of Carpenteria before moving across the NT to the Kimberley...sitting around the Kimberley for a few days before being dragged across the continent through southern NT, SW QLD, NSW. It will also impact Victoria and Tasmania tomorrow.
A notable location is Birdsville, QLD which averages 167.0mm annually.
As of now has record 123.6mm since 1pm yesterdsay. Meaning in the period 1:00pm the 3rd to 6:30pm the 4th the town has recorded 74% of its annual rainfall, a space of 29.5 hours.

It keeps raining every other day even though we should be more than a month into the driest time of year. 223% of normal precipitation in February. This year keeps finding new ways of being the worst.

Great start to March! Highs so far have been 40, 53, 53, 45, 44+. All in the 40s!
The 1st and today had clear, blue dome skies and the only rain has been drizzle when Iβm at work or at night.
Next week has two days forecast in the upper 50s and no sign of cold. Love it!

It was a very rainy day in Brighton. Total rainfall: 44mm/1.7 inches (pretty cool but annoying when you're out and about working!)

Heavy wet snow now, NWS says 2-3β overnight. Not even remotely interested in snow now. Think Iβd adjust my dream climate to make April snowier than February/March and May similar.
NWS says 56 and sunny on Sunday which sounds amazing and then 60 on Monday. After that it looks like a lot of 40s which is pretty nice for early March.

Another day of blue dome skies today, the 3rd out of 7 days this month. Only got up to 36 (2 c) though, the first day not to hit 40 this month.
Yesterday ended up with 3.3β of snow.

Chilly this morning, low was 26 F, already up to 36 F at 9 am though. Heading all the way up to 64 F today with sunny skies, I'm hoping we hit 66 F to have a 40 F diurnal range.
NWS has 73 F predicted for tomorrow! Whoa.

Got up to 58 (14 c) today, the warmest itβs been in nearly 2 months. Beautiful spring day.
It was also the 4th nearly cloudless day this month.
The first week of March was the warmest since 2004. Next week looks decent too with mostly 40s and low 50s in the forecast. That would take us through the first half of the month so if it does turn cold after hopefully weβd be done with 20s.
NWS says 64 (18 c) for tomorrow and they changed the forecast for sun. If thatβs true, we have a small chance at 70 as sunny spring days tend to overperform.

Mild here today. Low was 41 F (5.0 C), currently 47 F (8.3 C) as of 9 am, heading all the way up to 75 F (23.9 C) today! More than 20 F (11.1 C) above average. Very warm.

furthest north 60Β°F+ looks either in Maine or north of Albany Caribou has only 28 F (-2.2 C) predicted today with 1-3" of snow. Quite a strong gradient within Maine. Caribou seems immune to mild/warm weather during the cold season lol.

2nd half of March is looking a lot more normal regarding precipitation, so the flooded areas will see the waters subside.

Got up to 66 (19 c) today, again with mostly sunny skies. Beautiful spring day. Spent several hours outside with friends.
These first few warm, sunny spring days just put me in such a great mood.
But fuck Albany. Got up to 75 (24 c) there. They already had 3 days >59 this month, averaged a full 5 f warmer than us in February and had to days of 67 in January.

warm day today; reached 70Β°F in lots of the Northeast. Highs today zoomed in NYC was a little cooler than inland valleys (Hudson / Connecticut / Merrimack ) and stations right by the ocean barely went over 60Β°F. Typical spring heatwave pattern. Mid Hudson Valley reached 75Β°F. High at NYC Central Park was 71Β°F with a dew point of 22Β°F; really low humidity. Warmest day since that mid January warm day and with the stronger sun felt a lot warmer. small forest fire in the best hiking spot in NYC; forest fires are rare in the Notheast but early spring after a dry winter is the best time; nothing growing to hold moisture; snowless ground iontrs dry. wrrv.com/brush-fire-reported-near-breakneck-ridge/looks bad; hope it gets under control wrrv.com/brush-fire-reported-near-breakneck-ridge/

Possible new record high for March set yesterday downtown with 40.6 C (questionable though as the other downtown site measured more than 3 C lower). DMK airport recorded 39.5 C with dewpoints almost in the single digits. EDIT: It's now been revised to 39.6 C, which sounds more plausible. Tantalising close to breaking 40 C! Maybe in the next couple of days.
