warmth after the rainstorm missing us. Either lingering clouds or the ocean stopping us from reaching 70

Newark with 58.1F average high so far (14.5C). Very impressive. NYC metro area has essentially turned into northern Virginia this March

The first 13 days were the 7th warmest all time and the warmest since 1983. Doesnโt seem like itโll last though. Forecast has more 30s than 50s but the month should still end up solidly above average.

It hit 80F for the first time of the year on Wednesday. Got up to 81F. Temps have been stable the past few days with highs close to 80F and that looks to continue the next few days (around 10F above normal). Meanwhile it may not reach 60F in north LA today behind a slow moving cold front.

It would seem the snow has melted away from all the rocks surrounding the Holmรถn station Here's a summer picture of the station's location

NWS now says 68 (20 c) for Friday, could be our first 70 of the year.
After that it looks colder sadly with ice days Saturday and Sunday.
March is +7.7 f through 15 days though so it should stay above average.

Back on March 14, half an inch of snow accumulated in Portland. One of the latest snowfalls like this on record, although 2012 had snow on March 21.

We got some rain and thunder today. It was the first time I'd heard thunder in a couple months. Things are getting pretty green now, especially the grass in a lot of places.

Today's the first day of the year where the average high is no longer below freezing, at exactly 0.0C, and our last day with an average low below -10C. Tomorrow the average high goes up to 0.3C, then 0.7C, then 1.1C, with the average lows warming up by a similar amount. Unfortunately the actual weather doesn't seem to be keeping up with the averages this year so far, as we're still barely getting above -10C for highs at the moment and our lows have been mostly straddling the -20C line the last few days. Thankfully it's gonna warm up a decent amount this coming week, but will still be mostly below average...

Saw a few cherry blossoms in nyc last weekend, theyโve reached Massachusetts ( Nantucket lows resemble nyc more than western Massachusetts). Even for there, 3-4 weeks early http://instagram.com/p/B97OL7DgRvD
