We wound up getting two strong thunderstorms last week, but neither produced any hail in my area. There was some large hail and tornadoes in the southern part of the state, however.

Hefty snowfall downgrade, unfortunately, but the cold still stands strong. I'm in the 7–10 cm region; Cabramurra 20 cm, with the alpine ranges heading for 30–40 cm: Snow levels appear to drop to about 700–750 m AMSL (36°–35° S), so a reasonable chance for Batlow, and a sure chance for Kunama and upwards (950+ m). 35°–34° S snow levels appear confined to 800–900 m; 34°–33° S above 1,000 m (former) and > 1,100 m (latter). There appears to be no snow at all north of 33.5° S, however.

Forest fire warning in effect across much of southern Norway, also on the SW coast including Bergen. Typical in spring it gets that dry on the wet SW coast. A the same time, lots of snow in the mountains & mountain plains, and risk of flooding in some areas if all that snow melts rapidly

Okay WTF, so far April has been nearly 4C warmer in Whitehorse than in Saskatoon. I'm not even sure we'll catch up to them with only four days left in the month. That's impressive. They also had a stretch of 9 consecutive days with highs above 10C in the middle of the month, a mark we're just barely going to hit by the end of the month. I guess this just highlights how particularly cold April has been in Saskatoon this year...

Orly clocked another 25°C+ high today. Towering cumulus clouds, rumbles of thunder and a positively tropical 15°C dew point @ Paris-Montsouris. :-) Couple lil downpours here, the smell of wet earth is amazingly strong. Cadeau's area got nothing methinks.

Another severe weather risk tomorrow/tomorrow night. This time looks like more of a damaging wind than tornado threat. Computer models show a squall line coming out of Oklahoma moving SE; I wonder if it could be a derecho.

Overcast today with some light drizzle and a high of 49f (9c). Yesterday had a max of 50f (10c) with rain all day. Rode my bike 1 hour today and 2 hours yesterday. Feels great; I'm absolutely loving the weather right now for the first time since November (excepting vacations).

Nice and comfortable this morning here. Low was 65 F (18.3 C), currently 71 F (21.7 C) with a 61 F (16.1 C) dew point, headed up to 83 F (28.3 C) with sunny skies.
This week looks relatively comfortable, likely our last comfortable stretch of weather until late October/early November.

Tweet here about the Australian cold spell coming up... what looks weird to me is how the centre of the low hardly moves much at all for two days, our autumn/winter storms in the Atlantic usually pass through a lot quicker. Stronger Coreolis effect at higher latitudes maybe?

The dewpoint is currently 66F/19C. That is close to the highest we've had yet this year, but it got similarly humid a couple times in late March. As ral31 posted, there's a chance for severe thunderstorms here later today.

Beautiful sunny day today, high was 59 (15 c).
Despite being the warmest day since the 13th, it was still the 14th straight below average day.

Tweet here about the Australian cold spell coming up... what looks weird to me is how the centre of the low hardly moves much at all for two days, our autumn/winter storms in the Atlantic usually pass through a lot quicker. Stronger Coreolis effect at higher latitudes maybe? The low is basically jammed between those two strong highs so it can't go anywhere. This polar assault will seal this Gaypril's fate, infact it might aswell happen now, as the rest of the month was a worthless piece of shit. Infact, 2020 in general has been a meteorological abortion, except for that 32.2C overnight low Renmark had in Jackoffuary. I mean, 7C high in Canberra on Friday, that's rediculous.
