Boring non-weather day today. It was in the 50s all day with 0.38โ (10 mm) of light rain early than on and off drizzle and overcast. Fortunately, this will be the last high in the 50s for a while.
The past few days have now dropped this month to 4th coldest to date. With today, itโs averaging 56.2/37.8 which is about the same as an average April.

It's amazing what a difference warm nights make when it comes to vegetation. After having had mostly very cold nights this month we finally had a low of 11C today and the amount of leaf growth that's happened since yesterday afternoon is amazing. Got a few more warm nights in store before a cool-down on the weekend, so hopefully this gives the vegetation a good boost.

How leafed out is Saskatoon at this point? Was in Quebec City at the end of last May and was quite surprised that not everything was leafed out yet

We had a high around 82F/28C today. The dewpoint stayed in the 50s F (low 10s C) and I had the windows open all day. It's cooled off to a nice 67F/19.5C. The cool night air reminds me of visiting my grandparents in San Diego. One of the videos from the article: The same article translated: linkIs an animalito just a small animal?

It's a bit damp and drizzly right now but we've still only had 18.8 mm of rain in the whole of the last two months (average is roughly 140 mm).

"This is how they lived this afternoon, with large #hail, in La Pimienta neighborhood of Ciudad Valles in the state of San Luis Potosรญ, Mรฉxico. Authorities indicated the death of various small animals in the area #ExtremeClimate2020"
Is Col an abbreviation? It looks like col means cabbage, but "in the cabbage of La Pimienta" makes no sense. La Pimienta is a neighborhood of Ciudad Valles at least according to Google Maps. [https://goo.gl/maps/4ywW1ssU5LVNpUCK7]

Possibility of thunderstorms today, and possibility of severe thunderstorms tomorrow. We'll see if they actually manifest but with the warmth and moisture both at higher levels now I'd say we have a decent chance.

Google says it's short for Colonia. So instead of Cabbage Pepper, it's Cologne Pepper. Google translate isn't perfect

The next couple days should be a little below average before rebounding into the 70s F/20s C this weekend. Rather chilly low of 40 F/4 C for tomorrow night.

High today was 67 (19 c), clear morning than turned overcast.
Many trees are leafed out now. Magnolias and Cherries are on their way out but thereโs still tons of flowering trees. Looks green and colorful and lush as May should despite the early month cold.
