Summer is soon upon us. In Umeå, statistically speaking, there's a marked difference as soon as June begins. The last three days of May have average highs of 15.1, 15.8 and 15.4, and the first three days of June have average highs of 16.5, 17.2 and 16.4. (1980-2019 average from infoclimat)
For official 1991-2019 stats, it's 14.9, 15.9 & 15.6 vs 16.5, 16.9 & 16.6. Literally over 1'C increase as soon as June starts.
Also seems that right about now is the time where Umeå Airport overtakes Trondheim Vaernes airport in terms of average highs.

No days below 20C forecast for the next 10 days. What an amazing spring we've had this year! No rain forecast either, and we've only had about 5 days where it's rained in the last 6 weeks or so. Grass is looking very dry everywhere already.

On Wednesday, Montreal has a forecast of 33/21c (92/70f), while 600 km south in NYC we have a forecast of 24/18c (76/65f).
That's regardless of which forecast you look at, TWC or NWS/Env Canada.
That's an impressive difference that I haven't seen before. It'll be interesting to see if it pans out.

A little higher to the northwest makes sense just looking at the map

High was 87 (30.6 c) today, very nice. First 30 c of the year, 1 day earlier than normal.
Dews were in the mid 60s most of the day so muggier than it’s been this year. Last few days have felt very summery.
Tomorrow and Wednesday have 89 and 88 forecast, could make a run at 90.

strange inland Northeast / Great Lakes centered heat wave (nothing record breaking but hot for late May) Giorbanguly Yeah pretty unusual pattern. Though I did notice in past few years the upper Hudson valley region (around Burlington especially) gets pretty hot days around this time of year no exceptional heat in that weird spot NW of Boston this year, sad 😢

Southern New Hampshire forecast 87-89; not exceptional but a lot hotter than the coast. Mountains of northern New Hampshire are going to fully leaf out now

^ That center of heat over the Great Lakes and inland Northeast is definitely odd. Look at this forecast for Saranac Lake:

So in less than 2 weeks, we have gone from 1 f off the May record low to 1 f off the May record high!
High today was 93 (34 c), the warmest temp since September 2018.
This was a new daily record, the hottest May temp since 2006, the T-3rd hottest May temp ever, and 1 f away from the monthly record.

75F (24C) here today and yesterday, Southern California weather....fog overnight, overcast in the AM, fully clear skies afterwards.
Don’t think I’ve ever seen Upstate NY be 15-20 degrees warmer than NYC/Long Island.

^Reached 35.0c in Montreal (CYUL) just now. Apparently that's a new record for the month of May!
26c in NYC (and 25c at my current location) now. Better than 35 but still .

^Reached 35.0c in Montreal (CYUL) just now. Apparently that's a new record for the month of May! They actually got up to 35.8C, and that was an hourly reading so the actual record may even be a little higher than that. Very impressive! Annihilated the previous daily record of 30.4C as well.
