Crocuses popping u. Hedges have had buds since January that's a huge gap in budding. I know oceanic climates tend to have a more spread out spring, but that's really long. I think hedges and crocuses came out at about the same time in NYC

Huge forecast busy today. Forecast was 63 (17 c) and it only hit 54 (12 c). It was still a nice mild, dry day so no complaints. Better today than tomorrow when itβs supposed to be in the high 60s.
If Saturday hits 34 (current forecast is for 32), then this March will set the record for highest low max (the rest of the forecast is warm so Saturday would be the only day that could ruin it). If not it could still be a rare March to not have an ice dayβI think thatβs only happened 5 or 6 times before.

Very warm so far this month. No record warmth, but nearly constant above-average weather. For reference, the average for the month to date is 40/26F (4/-3C).
Total snowfall: trace Total ice days: zero Days below average: 1 Days reaching 50F/10C: 6 Nights at or below 27F/-3C: two, the 6th and 7th Warmest: 65F/18C on the 8th Coldest: 23F/-5C on the 6th and 7th
The lowest snowfall on record for March is a trace, which last happened in 1945. The last March without an ice day was 1973. Since 1900, three years have recorded a trace and two lacked an ice day.

Absolutely disgusting fucking weather in NYC today, reaching 25c. Very thankfully I'm on Long island where it was 10c cooler, still gross but not god awful. Also thankfully, this kind of weather should be fairly infrequent until late May. More 40s coming up !

Got up to 70 (21 c) today. Beautiful day, went for a walk, got some ice cream then drank beer on my patio for awhile.
Cold front came through in the early afternoon and it got super windy. Peak gust was 61 mph, the windiest in a long time.
Down to only 33 (1 c) now at 11 PM. Tomorrow could be an ice day.

You are definitely nowhere near the right climate.

^Agreed, the climate here is lame af though not completely terrible (I used to live in Austin). For instance, today is much better at 7c at 1pm.
I'll move in 2-2.5 years, and then again in another 2-4 years. Don't know yet where I'll end up either time. Ultimately aiming for Mpls, Duluth, Montreal, Calgary, or Saskatoon. Somewhere like ND or MT would be ok too.

High 3/20: 70 f (21 c) High 3/21: 30 f (-1 c)
Epic temp change for us.
Today was very dry and sunny, the dew point got as low as -1 (-18 c) and there wasnβt a cloud in the sky.
Down to 24 (-4 c) now so could be headed for the first low in the teens in a long time.

It's been cloudy maybe 80% of the time here since Friday the 13th. It was sunny most of today, but clouded up in the late afternoon. Wednesday and Thursday had some sun, but this past Friday was the only day that was predominantly sunny in recent times.

The dew point just plummeted. Airmass change; the NE wind is bringing more continental air in:

Cold continental air from the east could bring the last freeze of the season. Very dry air in most of Europe:

Total snowfall: It snowed last night the 22nd about one inch. Largest snow since February 17th, five weeks ago. Total ice days: One, a high of 32F/0C on the 21st.
Days below average: 3 through yesterday. Nights at or below 27F/-3C: three. 6th 7th 21st
This month is no longer in the top 10 for least snowfall or ice days. A single ice day is more common than I expected, with 11 (soon 12) times since 1900. The distribution of ice days is a bit odd. I'll make a graph.

Yesterday had 0.4β (1 cm) of snow, the first snow since the 6th.
Through 23 days, the month is now averaging 47.1/29.8 which is +5.7 f above average.
Next week looks mild, stable and wet with most days having highs in the upper 40s/low 50s.

Subtropical Paris kicking in again. Don't know how the UHI can be so significant when it's been windy all night long.
