Horsetail ferns look like something out of Morrowind, or an alien planet!

More spam incoming It was 12'C on Wednesday. There was even a few hours of sunshine as well, and not that windy! Very wet and icy in this park in the city center I went and visited one of my favorite woods in the city. No idea what that concrete block in the river is, but in the summer you can swim over to it if you want and... Sit on it? Some more urban related pictures. Rate the Umean architecture. City skyline: The most central park The most central building complex right by the central bus station. I'm really curious what you think of this look. Day after that was 7'C and nearly a blue dome sky. This is the city lake. Very blue. Decided to walk the 8km home from the girl I slept over at. Don't know what this plant is up to Found tulips too! Against a wall, of course, but still. Normally tulips don't show up until late April or even May. Also found ducks. View from the hospital hill overlooking the central parts of Umeå. Very nice area, right in the middle between the city center and Uni area, but unfortunately, right now, the closest grocery store is like 1.5km away. Unacceptable really. But in a couple years they're building a huge supermarket right by. "Art campus" (for some reason smack dab downtown instead of at the Uni area 1.5km away)

Really good pics baba. I'm liking the quality of your new camera. I do love the short transition between built up areas and the woodlands around Umea.

Went for a ride around the Swan River in Perth today. Around 40-45km loop. Looking over the riverside southern suburbs: The Perth City Skyline on a cloudy, breezy day: View from Peppermint Grove easterwards towards Perth: A locally iconic bridge over the railway at Leighton Beach:

The sky was really beautiful this evening Some more shots: The new central bus station Not a lot of people downtown at 7pm on a sunday Went up to the roof of the new library to get a nice view of the sunset. There were a bunch of kids listening to Eminem while box sparring up there There were a lot of snow and graupel/snow pellet showers. Then I was hit by one of them

April threw us a little zinger. I wish there had been this much snow in January.

Taken at a local park today. 66°F (19°C) with low humidity, ideal walking weather.

In contrast to all the people who have posted shots of scenery that actually matches the season, here are some shots from a walk in the woods near Saskatoon this morning after having received 5cm of snow yesterday. It was around -8C when these were taken, but with no wind thankfully.

Yesterday was forecast sun by WO and clouds by SMHI. Morning and noon was clear, with some graupel showers in the afternoon. I walked home and visited a playground I used to love to visit when I was a kid Man, imagine living in this house, 3km from the city center. Today was a 4'C blue dome sky with 60% of the normal ozone thickness. A small flock of swans and another nice house Despite the 32.5° sun angle, the UV index was rated at 3 by Temis.nl and 4 by SMHI. I decided to take advantage of the ozone hole and the two inches of snow that fell a couple days ago and sunbathed for a few hours. Then I got bored and wanted to walk some. The bird cherries have started getting really large and noticeable buds (as seen in the top of the picture) After having walked west for a little while, I turned back and headed homeward again. A lot of people out, like these two enjoying the white sandy beaches of the Umeå river. Or this family, doing the same. Pines, kinda rare on the northern side of the river actually. Because normally, there's just a bunch or broadleafs. I was crossing a snowy field and stumbled upon these tracks. There weren't any human footsteps anywhere nearby so it must be a fox, not a dog. Didn't expect there to be a lot of fox around those parts. Don't they normally prefer conifer forests over agricultural fields and spindly broadleaf forests? As I was looking down, I also noticed this spider in the middle of the field trying to get across. A lot of birds on the river, but not even remotely close to as many as last year when there were literally hundreds of swans and canada geese in one spot.

From yesterday, my parents' garden is a much better quarantine than my cell in Aachen.

My friend and I took his dog to the arboretum. We walked along the river until it forked and the northern side was full of ice and the southern side clear. Obviously due to the sun being higher the further south you go. Took a coffee break on the bridge, as is tradition nowadays. The arboretum really is beautiful, even in the dormant season Though not dormant for much longer View over the mostly frozen rapids Then we headed into the arboretum When the dog tried to cross this patch of wet ice, it started sliding down the hillside out of control (eventually managed to get back without any harm). I was hoping the same would happen to my friend, but unfortunately he made it across in one piece Looks like mother nature had taco bell the other day This was a nice pic if I may say so myself I climbed a 15 feet tree stump. I like having huge logs up my ass. A view over the river The fields over here were completely covered with snow. Very weird. Just a couple kilometers closer to the city, pretty much all fields (that are large enough) are bare.
