Went cross country skiing today, drove to a neighbouring municipality. Carried my skies first 500 m or so (ski track to the left), as snow had melted (start at 200 m ASL). Ice on the lake, no ice close to shore.
Snow was wet as it was 7-10C this afternoon. The hard-packed snow in the ski trail melts later than untouched snow.
Around the tree trunks were holes in the snow, which is typical in April, as the sun heat the trunks. Also everything darker like rocks etc melts snow around it. Went 20 km today, harder work on the wet snow than on dry snow.

not bad for spring snow; often it's a slushy mess in my experience. Don't really like spring snow, loses the winter wonderland look

Some pics this afternoon - warm and humid. Severe storms to my north today, but nothing materialized at my location.

Sunday before last I went for a bike ride. 20 miles or so, and I got a flat. And I didn't have a spare tube since I had gotten a flat the day before and used my last spare tube and the bike shops are closed on Sunday. Thought I was going to have to walk 20 miles home, after a couple miles, a friendly local offered me and my bike a ride. To maintain proper distance both me and my bicycle had to go in his SUV trailer. 15 miles on a rough, frequently potholed curvy gravel road. I held on tight! Nice comfy chair to sit on for the ride another photo of the setup + photos of the ride. Their other car is Speagles84 favorite car. 🖕🏿Mörön🖕🏿 Yahya Sinwar I held on tight, especially when it got bumpy

How New England nei. A ride in a Subaru yea trailer ride is a little usual; there was no back to it, it's more exposed than riding in the back of a pick-up. A few people stared, a few others just laughed. Nice sunset on Wednesday

Dammit they've become a bit too puffy, it's beginning to rain now. looks like a late spring / summer sky to me. Early spring here gets more blank gray cloudy skies or clear blue skies. Lately more mostly cloudy but less convective looking skies.
