🖕🏿Mörön🖕🏿mmm Pacific Northwest one of the repliers says it's impossible to get downtown and Baker in the same angle and so the photo is photoshopped. dunno if that's true Looking at Google Maps, it's definitely possible. This shot was taken from very far away, with a very long focal length (zoom). Most likely, the image was taken on Bowen island, Lighthouse Park, or on a boat. For example, this is a picture taken from Bowen Island, with Passage Island in the foreground.

Today was another bust with a high of 86 (30 c) after a forecast of 89 f.
There were also storms in the forecast but of course all we got were some evening clouds.
This summer I’m realizing I’m not a fan of upper 80s. Either be 90+ and interesting or <83-84 and pleasant.
Of the 36 days >85 f so far, just 10 have hit 90. That’s pathetic and leads to a lot of annoyingly hot yet uninteresting days. When you add the fact that many we’re supposed to be hotter than they’re annoying, boring and maddening.
Now I don’t mind upper 80s but they are less pleasant than low 80s/70s and without the interest factor that makes me love actual heat.

Humidity's going way down, as is normal for August. Daytime dew points have been in the single digits Celsius the last few days instead of being in the 10C to 15C range that they were for a good while before that. My hands are starting to feel drier already. See you next year, ideal level of humidity...

Really does sound like our version of winter, we can get tons of 11C days but it's hard to get a sub 10C day. I'd probably complain less about consistent upper 80s days though.

Very chilly morning today with a low of 9.1C, and barely 14.5C at 8:00. Same thing yesterday. High was 23C though.

Upper 80s are terrible and have been saying it forever. 90s suck also and are worse, but at least its interesting.

28.6C was the high today, which is our hottest August day in 17 years. It's 27C indoors and really stuffy right now, I've got big windows so my house heats up a fair bit. Apart from the last two days it hasn't really been that special up here, but this heatwave is the first time ever that somewhere in Britain has reached at least 34C on six consecutive days

We're on a run of 5 tropical nights in a row at Orly airport and 7 at Montsouris. Really nice! 6-day averages are respectively 36.9/20.8°C (98/69°F) and 37.0/22.1°C (99/72°F). And finally eventful today: 36°C, then a storm and then 23°C dews. Lmao wouldn't do that:

London's average for August so far is 30.6c/16.8c.
2nd half of the month looking wet and cooler though, so the chance of a dry and sunny month looks to be cut short.

It hasn't rained significantly since July 25th and... it's Paris. So you can imagine. :-D Btw Montsouris recorded a 104 km/h gust from that storm! The wind was indeed impressive, with sideways rain. Sadly with the drought it felt like an autumn windstorm before the downpour, as dead leaves were flying everywhere.

^^^ Tonight I'm going to celebrate a full week of the hellhole weather is finally over. Now it's my turn deserving a remarkable, stable cool pattern that resembles northern England over a whole summer season next year.
First 12 days of August so far @ Montsouris 2020 Average High/Low (Mean): 32.6/19.4 (26.0)°C
Compared to 2003 during the same period Average High/Low (Mean): 36.6/22.1 (29.4)°C
Not worse as 17 years ago since the first four days were rather mild and haven't observed true tropical nights(daily minimum >25°C). Still, I don't wanna experience those streaks of temperatures again in several decades at least.

Holy shit I thought our drought was bad, look at this photo from Alsace taken on July 31 (Hardt forest). Looks like October. Posted by Count on Infoclimat Never seen a winter tornado, ever. Gee that tornado sure is a slim one. What's the diameter on the ground? Looks like a few meters!

Average humidity for the month is 90.6% 😒😒😒

Yesterday was disappointing. The high was only 25 °C (about 9 °C colder than forecasted). Epic thunderstorm in the morning but the temperate didn't rise afterwards.

Along with lower humidity, the chilly nights have finally returned. Yesterday recorded a low of only 4.2C. Thankfully this coming week seems to be on the warmer side with some nights in the mid-teens, but still... it's a definitive sign that the end of summer is near.
