Average high of 27.7c in Tokyo has to be one of their coolest Julys on record, surely?

Average high of 27.7c in Tokyo has to be one of their coolest Julys on record, surely? cdweather.boards.net/post/103013Last year had 0.2°C cooler average high. No information regarding the “average high” factors in ranking but when I search following the top 10 coolest July by “average mean”, 25.1°C seems the lowest average high in July on record.

Pooly 2020 Crummary#No.1 warmest July maxima on record (since the station began operating in 1993), and the 2nd driest as well. Extremely damaging to the local ecosystem, especially to rivers and streams, which rely on a frequent freeze-thaw cycle to produce runoff water. However, the individual record high of 13.8° C was not reached—maxing at 12.4° C on the 25th. There was an absolute lack of westerly polar fronts this July, due to the LWT storm tracks focused entirely on the South Atlantic i.e. South America (hence the very cold and snowy winter in places like Grytviken and Bariloche). Anomalies (Hunters Hill)Mean Maxima = 9.2° C (+1.9° C) [Record High]Mean Minima = 3.1° C (+1.2° C) Precipitation = 66.8 mm (–87.1 mm) [2nd Driest]

Die Flughafen es Renmårk Crummary July 2020Nondescript month. Except waking up on those endless freezing nights at 5:30am became fuckan old real fast. Trying to describe this July is like trying to describe the taste of one of those Marie biscuits. Temps and anomolies Also post the BOM version as it includes things like wind, humidity etc.

Bingley Absolute high: 31.6C Average high: 17.1C (-2.0C) Average: 13.8C (-1.3C) Average low: 10.5C (-0.6C) Absolute low: 6.5C Rainfall: 114 mm (+81%) Rain days: 20 Sun hours: no data as yet but really low, probably 100-110 One of the worst Julys I can remember despite the weird last day that came out of nowhere, most of the month didn't feel like summer at all. It's been a really disorientating year so far, with no real winter, temps and sun both on record pace up until the end of May yet we've gone straight into autumn.

If I had to call that a "summer" month, I'd kill myself. Without that 31C day, the avg high would basically match my July - except I'd probably have closer to 200 hours of sun, but we cannot know the exact number because the BUM has some apparent difficulty in maintaining sunshine data these days. Loxton, 40km SW of here, has 165 hours with 4 days of data missing, so close to 200 sounds reasonable here.

Summer was April and May this year as far as I'm concerned, since it's sunshine that I'm looking for more than heat anyway. Even an average August will feel far better than this July though, so it's not over yet.

I dunno dude, all I know is I would go batshit mental in your climate.
Atleast your sun is still a significant improvement on Tokyo's 47.7 hours. I mean really, what the bleeding fuck is that? Holy shit. 47.7 hours of sun in Tokyo in July. How the righteous FUCK is that even POSSIBLE? I am having difficulty understanding this in our plane of human conscience.

Average sunshine for those is actually less than July just gone, here (165 hrs vs 172 hrs).

The difference between the north and souffffffffffffff has been bigger than usual this past month ago though, there have been very few Augusts with less sunshine than the low 100s we've just had. I don't know if there's a massive blob of cold water in the North Atlantic or something but even some of the few sunny afternoons we had still managed to be 4-5C below average, which is really weird.

irlinit I had to run my heater almost every night and morning, my heating bill is gonna be retarted... it gets idiotically cold here, the avg lows do not tell the full story. I had to scrape ice off my car windshield on multiple mornings. Forecast sadly suggests my heater will be put to work yet..... I'm done waking up at 5:30am in subzero temps. Enough is enough, but if I give up, I lose good GayJ money so no, I will wake up in polar conditions thus far I feel you man, cold mornings are the worst, I guess at least you can get mildly warm afternoons with a much higher sun angle than here in winter so the afternoons can feel pleasant at least, I’d kill for your forecast on your day off in mid winter!

Precip close to double normal and mean temp around normal (highs below and lows above normal). Frequent precip early and late July and had a dry spell the middle of the month which had the highest temps. The airport was luckier with t-storms than where I live (I had 4.95" in my gauge - more than 3 inches less than the airport). Other stats: Lowest max: 83F Highest min: 78F Days with thunder: 10 Days 90F & above: 23 Max dewpoint: 81F Avg dewpoint: 74F Min dewpoint: 67F
