Synopsis: Subtropical high pressure is in control, centred just south of the forecast area. This seasonal high will remain locked in place over the area with no precipitation chances for the next week, at least, as is common during the summer when the subtropical band of sinking air shifts northward. This will suppress convection and temperatures will be dependent on flow and position of the high. Southerly to southeasterly marine flow should dominate this week (although marine layer no longer an issue with water temperatures well into the 70s), with the high then shifting slightly more offshore, bringing in more of a WSW flow, bringing about the potential for some major heat next week, with triple digits likely in inland valley locations, and 90s in the mountains and immediate coast.

Synopsis: Active wx as a northwest flow for Thursday sets in with the passage of a decaying cold front. This should bring the chance for some thunderstorms, a couple of which could be severe, mainly inland. These will be spotty and unicellular, but potential for hail/wind is there with the elevated CAPE and instability. Due to this have put slight risk for severe wx inland, with just marginal risk on the coast. Rainfall should be limited due to the low humidity levels and dry flow. Have Red Flag Warnings up for inland areas due to the hot temps, high winds, low humidity, and dry soils. Dry lightning is a possibility. Conditions will become much less favourable for fire wx after Thursday as a cool marine flow sets in. Weak ridging could build over Sunday-Monday, but another reinforcing cold front will come thru next week, delaying long-term heat potential to later in the next week.

Absolutely jarring conditions for Rozenntown, with a steady wind preventing the temperature from dropping much at night. The damage is likely to be colossal. YTD

Synopsis: An unsettled day is expected with increasing moisture as an upper low to the west pushes a strong cold front from the northwest. Locally heavy rainfall is possible with a moderately unstable atmosphere and PWAT values reaching 1.5”; cloud cover and precipitation should limit insolation today, and expect highs in the upper 80s to mid 90s for the region. A surface low will strengthen moving eastward along the cold front, with the front pushing through overnight. Scattered to numerous showers and T-storms are expected early this evening, with precip moving offshore by late evening. Drier and cooler air will filter in behind the front late. Lows expected to be in the mid 60s tonight. Good agreement that high pressure will build over the region, with highs Saturday & Sunday being in the 90s with lows ranging from mid to upper 60s Saturday night as dew points are expected to be in the 40s over the region. Winds will be relatively light. Warming trend by early next week is expected as flow becomes southwesterly with highs in the upper 90s to lower 100s, though dew points should remain lowish in the lower-mid 50s F. Still much disagreement among the weather models Wednesday through Thursday: GFS/CMC 00Z model runs indicate another frontal system pushing through late week, possibly with isolated/widely scattered showers/T-storms (confidence too low to mention in forecast for now), whereas ECMWF indicates high pressure continuing offshore, with southwesterly flow bringing hot, dry weather with highs in the lower-mid 100s F.

In all seriousness, your dream climate is about as good as a continental climate can be IMO - and I like how the weather's always interesting and always changing.
