Yellowknife in 2014: unbelievably less cold than normal during the cold North American January, and not as extremely warm as continental Northern Europe that year.

Northeast Ohio, where I lived, 2014. Quite the year. Notable: Exceptionally cold January and February, dipping below 0F many times. Jan-Feb 2015 was in fact even colder. Record low for July broken, 18 July 2014 - previously 51.4F, now 51.0F. I stood outside in it that morning. Least-snowy December ever recorded by a considerable margin. Also notable is that the 59F measurement that was the max for that month was recorded on the 24th. A disappointing Christmas for coldlovers like me. More than 4x the usual snow for November. I have some beautiful photos from that month. Maybe I'll try to get them on here at some point. Warmest day of the year was, oddly, in September. 5 September 2014 - max 91F. This was also the case in 2013: 10 September 2013, max 95F. An extremely wet May. My town received 3 inches of rain in just a few hours on the 12th of that month, and large portions of it were flooded. Overall, a very fun year for me in weather The winters on either side were great, too - the snowy 2013-2014 on one end and the exceptionally cold and back-loaded 2014-2015 on the other.

Quite an intruiging flat winter/flat summer scenario there sari! Save for the rainfall and likely humidity it would've been a perfect summer for me Potsdam 2014 - very warm by Northern German standards!

1936. Less extreme than the Midwest, but still set the all time record high after a cold winter. •7th coldest November •2nd wettest March •7th driest July •8th driest August •All time record high in July

I like this weatherbox. Could well be a year in Ariete Purchase.

Kerguelen 2014 - a very interesting year on those latitudes too. Record cold temp in August, as well as a rare month with a mean below -0C. Also, substantial warmth bursts in summer and actually quite higher sunshine than I thought possible down there Still makes subarctic Bingley '86 look like a tropical resort boombo

Parainen Utö in 1998: we all have seen the incredible avg lows and means out there during heat waves, but this must be the worst summer I can come to think of for any Nordic weather station beneath 60N Ariete!

I can think of worse... Edit: Ah, seems the July precipitation figure is inaccurate. Too bad

Sure. Don't know the sunshine data but B+ I guess. Probably not the best weather of Europe that year though They didn't publish it but going by averages and 2016 being quite sunny overall, I'd go for 2200 hours maybe? I'll try and see what else I can find in Central Europe for last year.

I'll try and see what else I can find in Central Europe for last year. Metz had about average sunshine that year which was 1605h. I'd have preferred La Rochelle that year. 2100h, similar summer, warmer winter, drier. Then there's Porto which had an LA year. It seems they only got 2100h that year though
