High of 5.6C and overcast in Riga. Weatheronline still says in their forecast that today's high should be 12C. Weatheronline is not very accurate, at least for where I live. For Riga, my source has 12C and sun for this Friday though. Your forecast looks similar to mine besides the sunny days here. Might just end up being cloudy though... Interestingly, Babīte is a suburb to the West of Riga, quite close to where I live, but I am closer to the city centre of Riga and inside the city borders. Low of 4.1C and high of 9.2C in Riga today. Overcast and dry. Looks like better days are ahead.

Seems like a pretty bad severe weather event, when all is said and done. One tornado had some pretty impressive signatures on radar.
Some guy sitting outside when his house gets hit by a weak tornado

srfoskey Yup! GOES is indicating –75°C OT cloud temperatures as well. A tornado emergency was issued as well near Centreville, AL earlier today.

Trondheim has only had 69.5h of sunshine this month. It's entirely possible that February will have more hours of sun this year than March in Trondheim; they had 98.7h in February, and their forecast is pretty cloudy and rainy. Eastern side of the Scandes have been a lot sunnier this March (opposite was true, at least relative to normal, in Jan and Feb). We're at 132h, and will likely end up around average for March. (02-18 average is 167h and our forecast is moderately sunny). Looking at some different stations in Sweden it's remarkably consistent with Umeå, Kiruna, Stockholm, Visby, Öland, Borlänge and Gothenburg all sitting at 120-140h right now. Less consistent in Norway (for obvious reasons) with Landvik sitting at a whopping 178h so far. Seeing that, I checked Nordkoster island on the Swedish side of the Skagerrak strait, and that station has recorded a whopping 185h! 151h in Oslo and 38h at Bergen airport.

Major windstorm crossing Western Pennsylvania this morning. I had my PWS record a 55mph wind gust for a time, very very strong for here. Rare outside of a thunderstorm.

May god be with those who are suffering due to the effects of storms in Georgia and Alabama. Birmingham has been impacted significantly. A tornado was also reported in the Atlanta suburbs. Today I should be seeing record highs, close to 80 F.

First 20C of the year possible on Tuesday. Last time we exceeded 20C in March was 2012.

Temps now warming rapidly with the strong southwest, downsloping winds, almost like the Santa Anas in SoCal, but humid. 70s and maybe 80s in spots! Current forecast has 77º for me on the North Shore, I'm near LGA. NYC could definitely shoot for 80s. Even spots on the Jersey Shore are in the 80s. Likely daily records today! Next week is chilly (March 29-April 2 only really), then back to spring warmth in the longer range.

This map by the way, is not the most accurate one, today it was over 10c SE Estonia, but ok, let everyone post what they want. The good thing is at least that this generally poor month brings somewhat better weather in its last decade.

First 80s since October, and first 80s in March since 2012, along with a record for the day all across the metro area! Humidity has dropped significantly with the dry downslope winds, RH of just 28% now.

The good thing is at least that this generally poor month brings somewhat better weather in its last decade. It is a common map, posted by various people over the years, but ok, maybe it is ok to post it some times.
