We have a winter storm warning in effect right now, almost certainly the last one of the season. We're expecting up to 10cm of snow and winds in the 70 to 100 km/h range tomorrow with the temperature dropping steadily down to -5C in the afternoon. A very stark contrast to today's weather, where it was 18C and sunny this afternoon.

Potential for a "major" spring snowstorm on Thursday, looking anywhere from 2-5". Good thing I haven't planted any of my garden yet

Mmh so a 7/15°C is 1°C below normal and a 4/14°C one is 1°C above.

We officially hit 18.2C yesterday, a great record high for March! Currently our average high for the month is 4.5C, well above normal.

The snow has just arrived in Saskatoon finally. We had some rain this morning and the wind had started picking up but nothing more. Now the snow has finally started moving in from out west in the past few minutes.

Most of the highways in the western part of the province have been closed due to the snowstorm, while out east things are a lot more normal. Black = normal conditions Yellow = wintery conditions White = travel not recommended Red = closed

Today's highs/lows in Europe. The warm blob over France also corresponds to the cool spot of western Europe at night. Large dirunals indeed in central France. SE suburban Fontainebleau wasn't too shabby either with a 24.1/-1.9°C (75/29°F) day. B-b-but oceanic locales cannot into high diurnals!! Less of a diurnal here ofc with the warmer nights with 23.1/4.3°C (74/40°F).

Fort McMurray's weather station is clearly fucked. They're reporting 29C with a 23C dew point right now (with a forecast low of -16C tonight, LOL!) while all other nearby communities are below freezing. Also most of the days this past month have missing data. Something's clearly gone very wrong over there.

Got down to 38F here this morning. Clear sky today with a high of 72F. Warm front coming tomorrow should bring humidity back, warmer temps, and t-storm chances. Then another cold front coming which could bring even cooler temps than today's low and maybe patchy frost!

Got down to 38F here this morning. Clear sky today with a high of 72F. Warm front coming tomorrow should bring humidity back, warmer temps, and t-storm chances. Then another cold front coming which could bring even cooler temps than today's low and maybe patchy frost! That same trough should move in, and its associated warm front should arrive here Wednesday morning, and bring some T-storms in the afternoon/evening before the sharp cold front passes.
.LONG TERM /TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH MONDAY/... As of 4 AM Monday...Cool and dry before a stout cold front approaches the area Wednesday and moves through by Thursday morning.
Wednesday and Thursday...Deep troughing and its associated front approach the area bringing unsettled weather with it. Warm front to cross the area from the south in the morning, increasing the chance for scattered showers throughout the day. Highs in the mid to upper 70s. As the day progresses, likelihood of isolated thunderstorms increases ahead of the front in the afternoon. Forcing associated with the sharp cold front in the evening/overnight will allow thunderstorms to persist until the front moves offshore Thursday morning. Rain totals expected to be between 0.75 to 1 inch inland and 0.5 to 0.75 inches toward the coast with higher totals possible within regions of heavier downpours.
Thursday and Friday...Cool dry air surging into the area in the wake of the cold front has highs and lows below normal. Skies clear behind the front, allowing temps to reach the mid to upper 50s Thursday afternoon but the clearer skies enables more cooling overnight. No appreciable change in guidance from last night regarding lows. Just below freezing Thur night/Fri morning and hovering around freezing Fri night/Sat morning. Frost and freeze headlines are on the table.
Friday through Sunday...Dry and cool with gradual warming as high pressure builds in from the west and settles conditions over our area.

The outlook looks awful, proper plant killer stuff. My neighbour's magnolia tree will surely suffer.
