We hit 21C this evening, our warmest temperature since October 10th! Tonight's forecast low is 9C which will end up being our warmest low since September 26th if it happens. Now if only we could get some rain... Not even counting today, April is currently at 2C above average and this trend will continue for the next several days. We're having a bit of a cool-down early next week but nothing extraordinary for this time of the year. Great spring so far

Currently two cyclones are dancing around each other in the Indian Ocean north of WA. It's called the Fujiwhara Effect: Source: www.abc.net.au/news/2021-04-07/two-cyclones-looming-off-wa-set-to-create-fujiwhara-effect/100052066There's a video in that link that shows the relationship these two pressure systems are forecast to have. The attached image also proves that they will kind of dance around each other before both pushing southwards into WA. Seroja is forecast to hit Geraldton (28 degrees S) on the 11th-12th April, very late in the season for sure.

A high of 4 F in Fairbanks in the middle of April is extraordinary! Lots of spots in the interior of AK with -35 F to -38 F lows predicted for both tonight and tomorrow night, so -40 F could be achieved in some spots!
Meanwhile here it's pretty decent, 78 F (25.6 C) with a 56 F (13.3 C) dew point as of noontime, a touch more humid than the last few days, low was 61 F and 60 F (16.1 C and 15.6 C) at both reporting stations respectively, PWS in my area dropped down to 57-59 F (13.9 C to 15 C). High today headed up to 84 F (28.9 C) and sunny skies.

A couple of graphical forecasts for Alaska. First graph is predicted nighttime lows for tonight, second graph is predicted daytime highs tomorrow. Typically, at this time year, you'd see a massive difference from north of the Brooks Range to south of it, but not so with the big cold snap in the Interior at the moment. Nearing -40 F (-40 C) in some spots, and most spots remaining subzero tomorrow afternoon, very notable! A couple of spots on the Arctic Coast with highs of -17 F (-27 C) as well.

We're finally getting our first proper rain of the year this evening! Feels so nice to finally have some moisture in the air. It's been extremely dry to the point where fire bans have been instated, so hopefully this rain will help with that a little bit. Hopefully it'll also give us reasonable dew points, humidity's been way too low for my liking lately.

Drought has expanded in Florida, despite last week's rain (South Florida mostly missed out on that event)
