Le Crummary du 2021 Failbruary à la Colline des Chasseurs Le Crummary du 2021 Failbruary à la Plantation de Pins du MaragleAn extremely cool and wet Failbruary: –2.6° C by maxima; –1.1° C by minima. This negative anomaly was surpassed farther north, such as in the Central West (wherein Orange only managed a paltry 27.3° C as its highest temp all month!). Although to save face, there was that one rain event earlier in the month—which brought a daily rainfall total of 126.8 mm here, and 91.2 mm @ Hunters Hill on the 06. Undoubtedly one of the most anemic Failbruaries in history RE heatwaves…long-gone are the days when Feb was the pinnacle of the Riverina summer. On another note, you'll notice that I've now included temps, as well as precip frequency in my PWS table. Anomolies du Hommosex (à la Colline des Chasseurs)Mean Maximum: 22.7° C (–2.6° C) Mean Minimum: 12.9° C (–1.1° C) Precipitation: 119.0 mm (+47.8 mm)

Well, that looks like a very mild summer. My lows are significantly warmer than yours, rare to see it go below 55 F at night by the lake. Also a mean maximum of just 83 F is rather shocking for Australia. That's my average high. Anyways, February was colder than normal here, with plenty of potent cold snaps and snowfall. It was only 3 F below average, although points inland were almost 6 F below average: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Days with high above 50 F (10 C): None recorded, but 2 possible after weekend weather Days with low above 32 F (0 C): None recorded, but 2 possible after weekend weather. Subtropical Index: Potentially 7 % ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Days with high below 25 F (-4.5 C): 12 Days with low below 10 F (-12 C): 11 Hemiboreal Index: 41 % ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Last 2 days of data are missing, since weather info is not updated on weekends. If I had to guess, we might have crossed 50 F for yesterday and the same is possible today. Lows were above freezing as well.

February 2021 Summary
February 2021 started off very cold and wet in the first week. The second week was drier with easterly winds, and extremely cold. The first half was snowy with lying snow for some nine days. The third week was mild and wet then the final week was very mild and dry, with high pressure building.
In summary it was a wet month, but the cold first half and mild second half result in an average temperature.
Daily summary:
Old hometown of Buxton, Derbyshire, England. Their February was SUNNIER than Sheffield probably due to easterly winds.

This February has been colder and wetter than normal (7th wettest February on record), with persistent CAD mid-month (esp. Feb 12th-15th, and 18th-19th), though there has been a nice warmup towards the end of the month—overall a rather poor winter month. This winter was also the 6th wettest on record (15.87" of precipitation for DJF). Average high: 54.6°F (–3.3) Mean: 45.6°F (–1.2) Average low: 37.0°F (+0.9) Precipitation: 6.64" (181% of normal; 7th wettest on record)

February here was above average, with a warm spell during the first couple of weeks of the month. On the 15th we had a cold blast as the pool of very cold air that had been over northern Europe sank SE, it did give a couple of chilly days & the coldest daytime temperature nationally for several years, but wasn't as cold as originally forecast as the sea was warmer than average. The main feature of the month was how dry it was & because of this sunshine was also above average. Stats from my PWS in St. Paul's Bay Av.Mx 18.1C (+1.8C) Av.Mn 13.6C (+1.8C) Mean 15.8C (+1.8C) Highest Max 22.2C (5th) Lowest Min 9.6C (15th) Lowest Max 12.8C (15th) Highest Min 17.1C (7th) Rainfall 4.8mm (5%) Days with Rain 5 Days with Thunder 0 Days with Hail 0 Sunshine 228.0hrs (129%) Max UV 5.2 (28th) Min UV 2.5 (1st)
