The amount of times I have seen "kohli/tendulkar > bradman" has caused a permanent imprint of my right hand on my forehead. Lol, third worlders and Internet connections don't mix well. Bradman 's the best sportsman to ever live. Don't think there's ever been someone who's as far ahead as the competition as he was. Poor protection, crap pitches, bodyline tactics, etc. Nothing could stop him. Not to mention that he also lost some of his best years to the war. I like Broad, don't like Anderson though. Good bowler but a massive wanker And yeah, Bradman is legit statistically the best sportsman there ever was. Not a fluke either, his FC record included 28,000 runs @ 95.14. Absolute freak. Won't be replicated ever in cricket, or in any sport in terms of that domination. There is a graph that I can't find which shows standard deviations from the average in a number of sports, and it lists Pele, Michael Jordan, Babe Ruth etc and Bradman is so far above everyone there too lol. Even looking at lists from American sites they've got fucking Lara and Tendulkar like really lmao

Bradman was basically a superhuman among mere mortals, to all intents and purposes Australia had 13 batsmen in their lineup whenever he played. He was only 4 runs away from averaging 100 in test matches, but was bowled for a golden duck in his final ever innings.
I have a first edition Bradman autobiography, really need to dip into that at some point. Interesting life story growing up in the outback.

^^ Wouldn't mind reading a bit more about how well Bradman got on with his teammates, wasn't he known to stay in separate hotels to the rest of the team sometimes as well as being a generally aloof sort of character?
Nearly a decent day for England yesterday, looks like we need Ali/Broad to pull something out to have much of a chance though.

That ending was pathetic, another case of England throwing away a good position. Root playing a stupid shot, then throwing Bairstow away by not sending out a nightwatchman

Did anyone else see Bob Hawke downing that beer in the crowd? Credit where it's due, your Australian Prime Minsters can certainly hold a drink

Who's winning? Australia or England? I've no idea England need some fast wickets and then to bat out for a good score. Perhaps a 350 or so would do it. Although Australia are in the driving seat and could move on to a formidable score, followed by a declaration. I expect them to bat all day, and then send England out to bat who will collapse once again. Make sense?

Who's winning? Australia or England? I've no idea To give you a more serious answer Lommo, Australia are winning because they always win when it's in Australia, whereas England always win when it's in England. It never used to be as predictable as this because touring teams used to tour the country they were playing against for longer and take more time to get used to the different playing conditions, all these one-sided series now are starting to ruin The Ashes (the term for England vs. Australia at cricket) as a contest. Booo

Booo You should just go and play "brännboll" like on Swedish schoolyards instead

Lommo didn't need to know all that though Agreed we've been crap, but unlike 2013-4 we have got a bit more competitive since the series was lost at least, it's only been Brisbane and Perfffffffff where we've been completely outclassed. If we can somehow get a win or a draw here it won't be too much of a disaster considering we were without our best player.

Haha I love some of the stats that Andrew Sampson comes out with on Test Match Special!
"Steve Smith is now on 651 runs for the series - the seventh-highest for an Australian batsman in the Ashes. Four of the six above him are Donald Bradman."

You know things aren't going according to plan when an average player like Khawaja is hitting 171 against you.

Threatening to drop someone is clearly good motivation, look at Cook in the last test
