Now it's almost summer and someone would've made a thread soon anyway, decided we may as well have a cricket thread. Also it's the superior bat and ball sport  Might be going to a few big bash and ashes game this summer. |

When I first heard about the Ben Stokes thing I thought "Oh big deal, it will have been one or two punches thrown in the heat of the moment, why do they have to make such a boring fuss about these things?!"...and then I saw the video. Eek. It will be interesting to see what action the police take because I actually have a friend who went to prison for three months before I met him for an assault which was apparently no worse than what Stokes did. Shame really, because I don't see any chance we can win the Ashes away from home without him with all the holes in our batting lineup  |

Good news about your James Pattinson being injured though. I've faced his brother Haha so that's what Darren Pattinson is doing these days! He was randomly playing for some random hillbilly mountain team. He was crap, fast but wayward as hell. |

How have I never heard of this before?! Reminds me of playing cricket in PE at school when I was about 13 lol, they brought a bowling machines in for nets practice and for some reason I was the first person in the queue to face it. I have no idea how fast it was and it was only indoor balls anyway, but it just felt like it was firing missiles at you rather than bowling balls, the first ball took me by surprise so much my first instinct was just to hold my bat out vaguely covering the stumps and get as far away from the ball as possible |
