On the topic of cricket. There's recently been the very sad loss of Graeme Thorpe, who took his own life. An excellent batsman with a test average of 44.7, one of the best players of his generation. Pure class and a coach in the current England setup.

According to the names listed, all players are of British or Commonwealth heritage.
Cricket is along with rugby probably the easiest sports in Finland to get a National Team status. Even Darts is much much harder. Not that I have any problem with the cricket team being formed solely of immigrants and Finns of ethnic origin. Hope they do well!

Pure class and a coach in the current England setup. I heard about this and the way he took his life. Tragic.

That's how cricket is getting started in most European nations, outside of obviously England and other associate nations like Scotland, Ireland and Netherlands. Hopefully more of the native population can take it up in the future once it gains popularity.

That tends to be how it gets off the ground in non-commonwealth nations, through the asian and carribean communities. Whereas the Netherlands are quite good because of their South African connections. The US recently beat Pakistan in the World Cup, pretty much all of their team was of Pakistani origin lol.
