I know who Vaughan is, I only had to google Gough. Looks like he was a decent bowler but certainly not a cricket great.
The Indian team made no complaints about Smith, only about Paine. With the fans, it's not proven what was said off camera but what was captured on camera was harmless. Even Indian fans in the vicinity claimed nothing racist was said.

Almost 500 international wickets at an average in the mid/high 20's, and you've never heard of him? Makes your knowledge of the game look very questionable.

My knowledge is just fine, I can't know every single player.

I was just winding you both up last night, I honestly have no idea about the Steve Smith debacle, perhaps @b87 can explain?

Great first day in India for England, Root is currently in the form of his life.

Massive innings by Rooty. First player to hit a double century in his 100th test.
Internet's down in India again.

Previous highest is 112 in 1959. Only 5 players have ever scored a double century on debut (in surprised its that high).

James Anderson is becomng a huge inspiration to me, 38 and arguably the best he's been. He's never played so well overseas, just demolished India in a single over of reverse-swing. It's said that physically he's never been better, he's stronger than he's ever been and is his current top sprint speed is the best he's ever recorded. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/55991491

He then proceeds to destroy India in a single over in (sunny) Chennai.

Even sweeter, Root has climbed above Kohli in the rankings

Anderson's long career splits almost perfectly into 2 sections, first half he was a poor bowler outside of England, in the 2nd half his stats outside of England are actually very respectable. He was the only English pace bowler who didn't have a nightmare in the last Ashes serious down under.
