Warner silencing the haters with a Dean Jones-esque 200 in searing heat, before retiring with dehydration and cramps.

Old mate is climbing up the list, and still averaging 60. Just insane.

What do you think JG ? Cummins Declaring with Ussie on 195.... Garbage decision, this game was always going to be a draw even with how bad South Africa are. Ussie deserved 200 If we do get 20 wickets in just under 2 days, then I'll gladly eat my words

Aussies win a classic ( 3rd Test in India ) by 9 wickets. Poms snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in NZ by 1 run ( after enforcing the follow on ... which I'd suggest this is the last time the 'follow on' is ever enforced again in Test match cricket.

That Eng vs NZ match was beautiful. Pitch was great too, offered something for everyone. Contrast that with the shitholes in India which were turning square 30 minutes into the morning session on day 1

Contrast that with the shitholes in India which were turning square 30 minutes into the morning session on day 1 The Indians 'doctor' their pitches to suit their strengths ( spinners ) the same way we do in Perth and Brisbane ( ie Starc, Hazlewood and Cummins ). That Brizzy pitch last year was on par with the Indian pitches as 'substandard' as far as Test cricket is is concerned. Games finished in 2 and a bit days....

I agree that the Brisbane pitch was awful. Couldn't even see it properly on the field it was that green. Difference is, that was an outlier as far as Brisbane's concerned, let alone the rest of Australia which generally has friendlier pitches. Usually it's not like that, whereas the Indian pitches are all the same every damn time. I think they used to be roads at one point but now they've just changed them all to rank turners so that Ashwin and Jadeja can pad their stats.

No Ashes prediction yet? It's a very early and compact schedule this year, combined with a very wet spring. Possibly expect lots of green wickets compared to normal.
1st test: 16-20 June, Edgbaston, Birmingham
2nd test: 28 June-2 July, Lord's, London
3rd test: 6-10 July, Headingley, Leeds
4th test: 19-23 July, Old Trafford, Manchester
5th test: 27-31 July, The Oval, London

I predict that David Warner will get a king pair in the first test and be dropped after the 2nd test, having scored <15 runs.
I think England will win either 4-0 or 3-1. Old Trafford will be a draw due to rain. If Australia win a test, it'll be at The Oval.

If you'd asked me 18 months ago, I would have predicted an easy Australian victory. Now I'm confident England will win.

Australia will win 3-2. Each game will have a result because England will endure a long dry spell without any rain all summer, and Australia will win the last match at The Oval off the last ball with Green hitting a 120m six off Broad who will then say that 'it doesn't count'

WTC Final between Australia and India starts today. India won the toss and elected to bowl on a greenish deck.
