SST outside Umeå reached 24.1'C today. I swam in the river instead. Don't know what the temp was there.

I visited a friend in College Station this weekend and also went down to Houston. It was very humid, with dewpoints in the mid-70s F (23-24C) most of the time. But the temperature never really got above 90. I also experienced several episodes of heavy rain, including one when I was driving that slowed the traffic from 60 mph (100 kph) to 30 mph (50 kph). There wasn't too much thunder with most of the rain. But overall the atmosphere had a very tropical feel. Dangerously hot today, high of 90F forecast with a maximum heat index of 95F How often do you get heat indices that high?

Seriously Good Shit(tm) on the way after an already exciting late afternoon/early evening, featuring high gusty winds and 0.75" (19 mm) of rain so far: System as a whole moving ENE, though individual heavy cells can be moving in any direction from northeast to southeast. Let's hope that Big Red region stays together and hits us.

Hot, sunny, and hazy at 97/76 today, finally back to the heat today. Some storms rolled thru for a hour or two, not great quality storms though. Not much thunder or lightning, but there was a lot of wind, especially right before the storms. Tomorrow is a repeat of today. Thursday night could see limited impacts from TS Elsa, just a quick burst of rain. The storm is forecast to move very quickly. Then average temps and dry settles in.

Reached 92 F/33 C so didn't quite make it to 94 F/34 C. That's still not stopping the NWS from trying again tomorrow lol. Heat index reached 99 F/37 C. Had a severe thunderstorm earlier this evening with gusty winds, heavy rain, and lightning. I was unable to take a picture but there were very dark ominous clouds in the distance. Before it started raining there was dirt, leaves and debris flying everywhere because of the wind. Trees are down and there's scattered power outages. Probably the most exciting storm of the year. Impressive temperature drop too:

Had 3 thunderstorms come through today. The first was about 10:30 AM with a brief downpour and lots of thunder. Thunder pretty much continued on and off until noon when the second storm came through. The third was just distant rumbles of thunder but no rain, passed through around 3:30 PM.
They mostly missed the airport though as only 0.05” (1 mm) was recorded.
Despite all the storms it managed to reach 86 (30 c). Very muggy too with dews in the low 70s, peaking at 73 (23 c).

Elsa's effects dropped a total of 1.64" (42 mm) of rain here for Monday and Tuesday, not an eye-popping number but better than nothing I guess. 1.20" (30.5 mm) of that fell on Monday, and there was also a tornado warningshere in Miami-Dade County on Monday, which means a radar-indicated tornado/rotation occurred or one touched the ground, but I haven't seen any reports.
Very warm this morning, 81 F (27.2 C) with a 76 F (24.4 C) dew point as of 5 am, temp never dropped below 80 F (27.2 C) overnight. Headed up to 90 F (32.2 C) with a 50% chance of showers and storms this afternoon.
Headed up to Lutz, FL (Tampa area) today, they have 1-2" (25.4 - 50.8 mm) of rain predicted with tropical storm conditions possible up there. Predicted high of 85 F (29.4 C). Nasty squall line around the Port Charlotte area will make its way up there later on today it seems.

2.02" (51 mm) of rain so far since yesterday around 5:30 pm and there's still more green stuff on the way. This system did not disappoint What IS disappointing, though, is the forecast high today: 64 F (18 C) according to WLUK last night, 61 F (16 C) according to NWS today. Either way, It could be the coldest July day since 2013 - or if it falls short of even that pathetic forecast, potentially even 2000. Gag me with a spoon

They are indeed very high, but not record-breakingly so. They had a streak like this in July-August 2018:
It's a quaint little community:
Can you spot the weather station?

Yes, but that's late July and early August, on an island in a sea. Big difference between early July and late July in a place like that!

Mild night last night, 18.7'C low at thr AP, and the dew point has been above 18'C pretty much the entire day. Muggy. People at work complained about the stuffy air
Edit: Got my PWS results back now. 18.6'C clear-sky low yesterday (14.5'C at the airport) and a 18.9'C low today vs 18.7'C at the AP. A 19.1'C DP max yesterday and 19.5'C DP max today at my PWS. 17.7'C and 18.9'C as maximum hourly DP observations at the airport. Getting humid, and SSTs are 24'C outside Umeå, and almost 26'C at the north coast of the baltic. Tomorrow's gonna be a sunny 26'C day. Expecting some warm nights in the coming days.

High was only 72 (22 c) in the early morning today. Had yet another thunderstorm at about 6 AM that briefly woke me up.
The afternoon was slate gray with temps in the 60s, very cool for summer but actually felt kind of refreshing.
