Another hot and humid day with a high of 91 F/33 C and dewpoints well into the 70s. No crazy thunderstorm like yesterday but probably a good thing considering there are still power outages and road closures in some areas.
Flash Flood Watch issued for tomorrow afternoon into Friday as the remnants of Elsa impact the region.

Hot, hazy, and dry today with high/low of 96/74. Rain from TS Elsa Thursday night, then a cool dry weekend.

Got around 2 mm of badly needed rain during the morning, but more would be necessary. Now turning sunnier.

Those Finnish low temperatures are absolutely ridiculous! If there's a BBC weather forecast with lows of 17C, the presenters will be saying how it's going to be a warm and stuffy night.
The UK has just about the worst summers in Europe. Shit.

An entire week without any measurable sunshine. That's almost unheard of even in winter, let alone during early July when the days are long. This must surely be approaching record levels of shitness. The forecast doesn't show it letting up for at least a few more days.

Tropical Storm Elsa will be here early tomorrow, but it should start affecting us late tonight. 1-2 inches of rain predicted and 40-60 mph wind gusts.

Very wet start to July here with 63mm already (>10mm higher than our average July rainfall), with two days recording over 20mm. Lots of heavy, thundery showers around over the past week. At least the rainfall has been relatively short-lived and intense rather than light and prolonged.
Luckily we haven't gone a week without sunshine though. Nice and sunny today. These more westerly, unstable airflows really do benefit the eastern side of the UK more than the western side.
Still hoping for a heatwave at some point this summer though. Maybe a good old late July/early August heatwave like 1995/2003.

Stormy evening here with moderate to occasionally heavy rain and quite a bit of thunder and lightning.

Maxed out at 86 today (at midnight lol) and low of 73 (during the afternoon). That tells you all you need to know. Shitty weather today, way too humid, way too wet, just . At least the models still agree on a heat ridge for next week.

Just got hit with some major torrential downpours as a thunderstorm rolled by. It's nice to have some more rain, we're still lacking it this summer.

Washout today, had on and off rain all afternoon with very little thunder. Looks like 0.37โ (9 mm) fell.
Interesting day back home, reached 99 (37.1 c) before a thunderstorm came through. This raised the dew to 64 (18 c), the highway of the year.

So with our heatwave at the start of the month, Saskatoon has officially seen an 81.9C temperature difference this year (in less than 5 months, actually), from -41.4C on February 7th to 40.5C on July 2nd. There are a lot of downsides to the climate here, but "boring" is not one of them

A heat dome will build into the Iberian peninsula this weekend. Really hot airmass, with 850 hPa temps approaching 90ยฐF; 115ยฐF temps are possible locally in southern Spain

What's with the random 93ยฐ in South San Francisco? I'd love the climate of San Francisco. You have the option of hot or cool in the same day depending on where you are in the city! Keeps everybody happy in summer.

Righto, I'm calling bullshit now. We had 2/3 hours reprieve yesterday when the clouds parted and the sun shone brightly from the heavens. Yet it's still reading at 0. Either the sensor is broken (hence why the Met don't give sunshine data for this area), or Babu snuck onto the airfield and covered up my sunshine sensor with a towel. Either way, I will conduct some investigations and get to the bottom of this matter.
