Highest UVI forecast I've ever seen for Umeå. Ridiculously thin ozone, very near the solstice.

Well this is lame, we had torrential downpours yesterday evening, the kind that left large puddles in just a few minutes, but Environment Canada only officially recorded 0.3mm of precipitation at the airport station.

Holmön island in Umeå municipality was the warmest in the country today with 28.1'C. Every "warm" day has had higher highs at Holmön than Umeå AP so far this July. It's because the location of the station is very rocky

Actually quite a nice summer day after shitty TS Elsa cleared out this morning. High/low of 90/72 with some sun, the 90 was recorded in 5-min obs. Definitely overperformed the forecast by a few degrees.

Najs. That would be a record low for Turku, our record is 23.4C, so it's easy to remember.

And a heat warning is back in effect for us, with highs above 30C everyday except one this week, and about half of those being in the mid-30s. Pretty much a repeat of our previous heatwave a couple weeks ago.
This is turning out to be the hottest summer in a long time here. Not sure if it'll break records as the warmest ever but it's definitely up there.
We're already at 12 days above 30C (and several more days that were less than half a degree from that threshold) and currently have another 6 more in the forecast. Our average is 13.1 per year, so even if the heat were to end completely after this week we'd still end up well above average.
We've also had 3 days above 35C so far versus our yearly average of 1.3. No more of those in the forecast though (and they're uncommon even in our hottest summers so I'm not really expecting more, but it is possible they could happen).
