Trust some unheard of location in NI with a spastic name to have the highest max temp in the British Isles... SMH. Bally Witty Cock. "scuse my immaturity.

Indicating snow levels of 400 m in South-Western NSW (e.g. Young): Widespread -4C 850hpa temps, safe to say there may be snow closer to sea level.

More model wanking, obviously I'm bored Is it the wind and rain youโre excited about or the snow in the mountains?

Itโs now been steadily raining for 28 straight hours (itโs 3 AM on the 18th now). Reminds me of the super wet day last July, pretty much constant steady rain with no thunder or anything.
Looks like 3.09โ (78 mm) ended up falling yesterday. This is the 5th wettest July day ever. Some minor flooding, but mostly the ground is just really wet and thereโs water in the shoulders.
This huge event brings the MTD total to 7.45โ (189 mm). This is also 5th place for July with almost half the month still to go.
15/17 days have now had rain. The record is 19 >0.01โ and 15 >1 mm. Both of these should fall as thereโs still a significant chunk of the month.
Also of note was the high was only 67 (19 c) and this came at midnight.

Should reach 30c again here today. It's so nice for it to actually happen on a weekend, rather than when I'm working. It's going to be a hot day for the F1 at Silverstone too!
Btw, that NI temperature yesterday is a load of shite. Way way warmer than anywhere else in NI. Nope. Also, the Liverpool airport station seems to have some unusually warm temperatures too. Seems to always be 3 or 4C warmer than anywhere else in that area.

952 mb (!) low in the Bass Strait; jointly with a 510 thickness! Even suggesting snow on Kangaroo Island (35.8ยฐ Sโhaving last snowed in June 1908), as well as Cat 3 hurricane force over the ranges.

Very nice start today. Low of 58 F. Going up to 83 F. Fell lower than the forecast due to the 54 F dew.

Yesterday ended up being a bust in terms of rain and storms. Only 0.16 in/4 mm rainfall. Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, high 80 F/27 C today. It was no bust here. Just kept on going with the lightning and thunder into the night and past midnight. Phillies game was suspended. Just went for a few quick errands and there is plenty of debris on the roads.

It was a big letdown compared to the past couple weeks. This week looks like a borefest. Still some storm chances but lower than recently.

We got 0.50" (12.7 mm) from a thunderstorm yesterday afternoon, bringing the MTD total to 6.20" (157.5 mm) - about 50% higher than the average of 4.15" (105 mm) to date. July is also averaging 1.3 F (0.7 C) below average so far.
Up to 85 F (29.4 C) with a 74 F (23.3 C) dew point as of 9 am, overnight low was 80 F (26.7 C) although it did drop to 77 F (25 C) yesterday afternoon during a storm. Headed up to 91 F (32.8 C) today with a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Big difference between inland Yorkshire and the coast today - currently 28C here in Leeds, only 18C at Scarborough/Whitby etc.
Either a good or bad day for going to the coast, depending on your perspective.

Oddly small diurnal for summer today. High: 24.8C, low: 19.2C.
Now the fun is over for at least a few days, only 19-21C highs. Possible single digit low on Wednesday.

A rare sunny, relatively dry day today, high was 79 (26 c).
Of course yesterdayโs deluge extended into the early morning, so 16/18 days have had precipitation now.

High/low of 86/74 today as light morning drizzle cleared up for a nice partly sunny summer day. Had a 4-day heatwave before this, but nothing impressive. Highs were 91-91-95-91 and lows were 70-76-81-74. Looks like a drier pattern second half of July, NWS has below normal precip probabilities for the region finally. Maybe can dodge the storms and get a nice dry streak going?
