Extreme heat in Eastern Montana today, Glasgow has a high of 108 F (42.2 C) predicted: Excessive Heat Warning mentions it could get up to 110 F (43.3 C) in spots as well: Been a very hot month there already, Glasgow is averaging a high of 94.5 F (34.7 C) this month, while the average high MTD is 84.1 F (28.9 C). And that anomaly is about to get higher, as every day in the forecast has a high of 96 F (35.6 C) or higher, with multiple 100 F (37.8 C) or more days in the forecast as well. To put it into perspective, last time Glasgow hit 108 F (42.2 C) was in June 1988, last time they hit 110 F (43.3 C) was in July 1936. All-time record high is 113 F (45 C) in July 1900 (could be dubious) so that should be safe.

High today was 84 F/29 C. Felt pretty benign with the dewpoint only in the low-to-mid 60s.
Forecast low of 64 F/18 C tonight. Sunny tomorrow and a little warmer with a high of 87 F/31 C.

alex992 Glasgow did hit 110 today! Had some wildfire smoke blow in here, AQI hit 130 which is very high for Rochester. The sun was obscured by the smoke and was just a big, bright orange ball in the afternoon which was really cool. The moon was also orangish/red.

Had what was probably the second strongest wind I've ever seen here this afternoon. Some completely mental gusts with showers this afternoon. Horizontal rain blowing past the window at top speed and shit being blown around. Officially 78km/h at the airport, but bullshit had to stronger than that here. Meanwhile, -2C forecast low tonight, and a 10C high on Thurs.

Our average high for July has finally fallen below 30C as of today. And I think it's going to stay there as we're finally back to normal seasonal temperatures in the forecast.
I don't think I've ever seen two-thirds of a month having an average high above 30C before. We've had 4 days above 35C this month, while our average is 1.3 per year, and 9 days above 30C (our yearly average is 13.1).
The smoke has been unreal as well the past week, but as of yesterday it seems a bit better than before which is nice. My new apartment is very warm and not being able to open the windows or turn on the A/C (doesn't have a recirculation setting unfortunately) has been annoying.
Can't complain we had a crummer this year, though! The only thing we're missing is thunderstorms, not too many of those this year as it's been so dry.

Large hail in parts of England today. Contrary to what some believe, hail like this is reported numerous times per year across the UK.

But really, yeah thatโs an insurance claim for sure. Get lots of hail in western and southern Manitoba which result in hail claims annually.

The temp was 30C here at 18:50, now at 20:40 it's 24C. Good example of how the temp here just plummets after a certain time no matter how hot it gets.
Does help cool things down a bit indoors though, all the windows are open now.

Pretty remarkable weather in Ukraine lately. Heavy rain has been reported by many weather stations yesterday, including in Odesa oblast where Liubashivka has had 45 mm. However it has stayed dry in Odesa. The airport has recorded 34C yesterday, then the wind direction has changed bringing a cooler air from the North. Only 20C in Odesa this morning, feels unusually chilly.

Had a nice storm this evening. Lots of thunder and lightning, only 0.12โ (3 mm) fell at the airport though.
More haze today although not as much as yesterday. Had an air quality alert though, I donโt even remember the last time I saw one of those for Rochester.

Sun shining for the first time in 7 days down here (also the first to finally drop below 98% RH). Classic SW Slopes winter gloomโa huge 180 from the sunny borefest that was July 2020. And 5 snowy days as opposed to 1.
Hunters Hill running almost 3ยฐ C colder in maxes than this time last year (6.4ยฐ vs 9.2ยฐ C), and with about +100 mm extra precip.
