This winter thus far has proven to be cold and unsettled. We've had some negative temps, but most of them occured in early June and our best effort is likely to be May 31, they've never seen their full potential due to the constant unsettled pattern in July.
Actually, I was wrong, there's been 5x negative lows in the first half of this month, one of them -4.4C. Current YTD tally is 12x negative lows, against an annual avg of 20.
Still been an unsettled winter compared to normal.

Holy shit, Zhengzhou received 8" of rainfall in only one hour! 25.38" of rainfall in 24 hours from 9 PM to 9 PM UTC. It gets even more insane once you consider that the annual average precip. in Zhengzhou is 25".

Mostly a nice day here today, smoke cleared out and 82/72, with DP's in the lower 60s again. Had a quick storm but cleared up.

Tinderbox conditions in Finland Proper province. Rarely seen red level forest fire warning due to rather strong winds. Lighting anything bigger than a cigarette in nature is prohibited.
Yesterday was the coolest day of the month with a 19.3C/11.3C diurnal. Averages are falling like a rock, and we are now below a 22C mean. Should start get warmer again Sunday onwards.

2.7ยฐ C pre-frontal here @ 948 m; It's likely that the incoming NW'er event could be my heaviest snowfall of 2021 so far (current heaviest daily is 16.4 cm on last Sat).

Extreme winter heat forecast across the base of the Top End and westwards into the northern Kimberleys. The 36c for Katherine at the RAAF Base Tindal will be a July record max if it comes off , as well a broad swathe of other sites looking at 36c's. Kununurra, just over the WA border also 36c, 0.5c from their July record.

Nice day today, high was 76 (24 c) with dews dropping as low as 47 (8 c).
It reached 56 (13 c) this morning which is tied for the lowest temp this month. Pretty mild despite being a cool month. Although the lows are actually slightly above average despite the highs being 4 f below.
It was also 2 straight dry days. The mas time that happened? Way back from June 28-29th.

Holy massive temperature drop, Batman! We went from 31C to 19C in just one hour! No storms rolling through either, just clear blue skies and roughly the same level of windiness we've had all day. How strange!

Bandung recorded a 21.0ยฐC overnight low this morning, which would be above average even in wet season.
Warmest overnight low since 4th June

A fantastic satellite shot of the eastern portions of England under North Sea Low Cloud, Sheffield also affected. Lovely cool, refreshing weather for areas underneath the cloud, warm and sunny elsewhere. Corresponding temperatures:

Huge diurnal range yesterday - high of 34.0C and a low of 8.3C for a total diurnal range of 25.7C. Even in the shoulder seasons this would be a large diurnal range nevermind in mid summer.
The other thing that was unusual is that the low was recorded at the very end of the day. Our last hourly reading at 11:00pm was 10.6C and the temperature was dropping by several degrees per hour in those final hours of the day before hitting 6C at 1:00am today and then starting to go back up. By comparison, the temperature never dropped below 20C in the morning yesterday.
