I actually found one station in Sweden which hasn't recorded had a sub-20'C high since June 2nd. The station is Mästerby on Öland island, pretty much opposite of Kalmar. No currently available data after Aug 15th though, and whereas Kalmar station has recorded sub-20'C highs after the 15th, another station on the island has had highs quite firmly above 20'C since August 15th, so there's a chance that Mästerby's streak is still going strong at 81 days.

Looks like we officially hit a low of 3.1C yesterday morning, very chilly! Also Environment Canada failed to register any precipitation for the day before yesterday, despite the fact that it was raining quite hard in the evening. That's unfortunate. I guess the rain cell must've just missed the airport.

Henri predicted to make landfall as tropical storm, not a hurricane: really strange and possibly destructive track with the 180° turn. wonder what the cause is? must be high pressure to the north? anyone know more?

rain maps of the last week / month to give an idea of where soil is saturated. almost everywhere had a drenching early july. some places have had a relatively dry August and might be ok. others had a very wet early July and wet recent few weeks, and will have high flood risks 7 days: 30 days:

Should be fine here as far as rainfall flooding goes, 3-4 inches of rain in the last 30 days, which means soil moisture should be about average. The parts of LI expecting the most rain have been decently dry actually (1-2” in the elastic 30 days for most of Suffolk). Storm surge should be a bigger threat here on LI, especially north shore with the NW cyclonic flow.

We're under a heat advisory today for heat index values of up to 105°F (41°C). I tried reading a book outside for a bit this afternoon, and it was just too hot.

Gross as fuck morning. 83 F (28.3 C) with a 79 F (26.1 C) dew point as of 6 am, headed up to 93 F (33.9 C) today with hazy skies. Next two days it's the same bullshit. Hot, hazy, humid with no rain. Fucking disgusting, most boring weather imaginable. Please, get me out of this shithole.

Heat won't budge this week. No heat advisories for now, but I see highs in the 90's with dews in the 70's.

Thankfully dryness and heat builds back in this week. Tuesday thru Friday likely 90s, and no rain chances until next week in TWC's forecast

Super rainy today! I think this may have been our second rainiest day of the year, just behind the massive 33mm rain day we had in late May. It was definitely a comparable amount of rain coming down and puddles on the ground, however the one in May lasted all day long whereas this was just a few hours, so I doubt it was near that much. But definitely one of the most substantial rainfalls we've had this year.

Improving weather conditions with dewpoints falling into the mid 60s as temps topped out at 85 after Henri's remnants cleared.
Diurnals here during the last several days, when I was in CA: 91/77 84/71 82/71 82/75 86/76 89/77 83/77 84/75 77/72 85/73. Pathetically low diurnals for summer, even for a UHI zone. Glad I missed the humid weather.
