More like the US deep south than Bangkok. Although, it's just as bad over here with dews around 70 F. At least the northeast gets a break soon. Will take a while to arrive here.

Summery again today, high/low of 92/75, very sticky again with DP at 71. Sunny all day till thunderstorms rolled in just a little while ago. Under a severe thunderstorm warning too. Too much summer rain here lately for me, but at least it's all from quick thunderstorms.

Of course the same places up north that always get the rain and storms are getting it again: Fuck you Phillips. I even see a little pink spot on there. Down here: not a drop within an hour's driving distance.

The airport still hasn't had a low above 8'C, while my pws has had lows around 11-12'C every day for a week now. Extremely stable. Here's the airport: (Today's max is just the warmest hourly reading until 08:00 this morning). Veery stable.

ECMWF and GFS guidance calls for an Omega block to develop over western Europe this weekend. Still some uncertainty and timing for the low moving across the North Atlantic but this will be worth waiting for—hopefully some highs in the upper 80s F, perhaps reaching 90°F (as GFS is suggesting) here late next week and next weekend; in other words, finally some summery weather down here as a cold front digs south into France/the British Isles.

Got 3.7 cm of pure snow in the last hour or so (currently –0.3° C). I wasn't really expecting anything, so a very pleasant surprise. Hopefully more falls later on.

Not really confident about that Kokkola (wherever it is? Tankar?) reading. Maalahti Storskäret it at 17C.
Turku 18C.
Must be very local and/or erroneous readings.

This early in the season I think the local "topography" of the seabed matters a lot. I know that the seas tend to be extremely shallow very far out around these latitudes at least on the Swedish side. Like you can walk out hundreds of meters into the water and still touch the bottom. I can easily see those kinds of waters being significantly warmer than deep, flowing water. 19:00 SST observations: The "kokkola" station seems to be pretty much inside Pietersaari, very close to the coast and in a very sheltered bay.

Not as humid and hot, high/low of 91/74 today, that makes 5 days with 90s in a row, which is officially considered a "heatwave". Could get a spotty storm, but nothing like the line last night.
