My son is in Babinda, far North Queensland today. Babinda currently holds the 'Golden Gumboot' trophy for being Australia's wettest town last year. Babinda is near Bellenden Ker, the BOM's wettest site in Australia. And even though its the dry season atm, the sky is overcast.

Nice clouds over Saskatoon this afternoon. We had lines of storms passing through the area on-and-off throughout the day, most of them skirted the city but we did get a couple good rain showers at times.

Not to go too far off-topic nor do I mean to come across as a kiss-ass to some but I gotta admit: jetshnl Those are some impressive storm clouds—no wonder with afternoon highs in the upper 90s F it’d make for an excellent summer’s day. urania93 Your strawberries look fuckin’ delicious. Might be a better fit for the non-weather photo thread though, but oh well. I prefer(red) local ones from Lk. Nemi—which are in-season now rather than the shitty store-bought ones lol! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Anyhow, sorry if I’m a bit repetitive but I’m posting photos from my usual walk in Rome the other day (Saturday) regardless—temperature was in the mid-70s F at the time. I wind up walking in the Celio district. Went by Case Romane del Celio. Should visit one of these days

Hoping for a drier than average summer here too.

Cool and cloudy as I got wanked consistently by marine layer and easterlies. High/low of 68/62, comfortable temps too. Felt like a typical June Gloom day in SoCal. Cool skies tonight, was at the Mets game, saw deGrom pitch to a 3-2 victory!

Despite May being below average in precipitation, and the last rainy day was the 23rd of May, with every day since being filled with sunshine and above average temps, we still had very green grass. Some lawns close to buildings were slightly dryish looking but that was it. And yesterday (and tomorrow) were pretty wet, so I guess yellow grass won't happen anytime soon. Found a wild linden sapling. Very pink tree. Took a detour through the island The Island on our way to the mall today. Summer vibes (even though it was pretty cool today relative to how warm June has been so far, with a high of only 18.9'C.)

Nondescript overcast skies the other day in non-UHI land. Nondescript clearish skies in UHI-land yesterday. May deffo had better skies even if it was insufferably chilly.

Beta cuck urbanities and their lack of impervious surface This is at my friends house in an urban suburb near Pittsburgh yesterday. I had 2.1" of rainfall in my yard but nothing of picture-worthiness

Visited my favorite natural area, Allapattah Flats. A thunderstorm was approaching from the northwest, but quickly fizzled out before it reached me. There were lots of blackberries, but very few had fruit. In the tupelo-bay-maple swamp Big ass flower (Hibiscus grandiflorus), perhaps the largest of any native plant Meadowbeauty So much hibiscus Lots of persimmon trees, but too early for fruit. Tastes horrible anyway. Rain looked a lot less threatening when I left.

Not the greatest shot with the trees in the way but the clouds looked pretty cool as a thunderstorm was moving through.
