Shitney/Penroids have been stealing my summers for 3 years now. But, 37 months in a row sounds suspect... probably a certain BOM agenda at play...

Probably using the 1850-2020 averages. Even then, it's still pretty unbelievable.

Probably using the 1850-2020 averages. Even then, it's still pretty unbelievable. Data confirms it, mind you they are using the long term averages. The 1991-2020 averages are genearally about 1.0c greater then the 1858-2020 figures.

^And that's largely due to UHI and the fact that Sydney Observatory Hill saw multiple, drastic siting changes over its lifespan. Typical gorebull warming BS from WankerZone.

Just noticed the new averages are out. Linton(which is now closed) has warmed in every month, with July now averaging 21.5C. Doncaster, which is around 30 miles to my south, averages 22.3C now in July. Considering this is supposed to be the freezing unliveable northern England, that's only 1.5C cooler than the warmest place in the country in the summer...

Just looked at mine, we've become warmer in every month, especially outside of summer. July and August haven't warmed much at all.
For the first time we now have sunshine averages, 1572.53 hours. It's nothing to write home about, but it is actually quite a lot for this part of the country. It's about 200 hours more than I would have expected, given what other stations in neighbouring regions record. The average annual sunshine for NW England and N Wales is a pitiful 1374.51 hours.

I don't know of anyone remotely knowledgeable about climate or on this forum at least who thinks northern England is "freezing and unliveable", unless you're referring to the dumb troll population of the current City-Data forum who love ragging on British climates. It has a very mild climate for its latitude. The best climate on its latitude, by far. Avg. high in July up to 21.4Β°C here, impressively mild winters as well with the avg. low of 2.6Β°C in December.

Why is it always cold fronts/low pressure troughs that direct heat to us in the southeast? Can interior desert heat air come here by "itself" (say directed by a high pressure system)? Anyway, makes sense why heat here is nearly always followed by a so-called cold change ("Southerly busters")... www.weatherzone.com.au/news/summery-sydney-weekend-/535742

SMHI has launched a very neat service where you can generate tons of graphs about temps using all-time data, like the max and min records for each day of the year, each year etc. They also allow you to compare graphs of 1961-1990 and 1991-2020 mean temps. UmeΓ₯: Stockholm Gothenburg: Lund: I wish we'd see the same increase in summer as southern Sweden did

interesting map, shows how skewed temperatures are winter. Negative skew means most temperatures are warmer than mean but higher chance of much colder than average temperature vs the same deviation warmer than average. From the map, looks like most of the east coast is symmetrical in winter temperature distribution, significant negative skew doesn't become common till the upper midwest and especially the Rockies. alex992examples of negative winter skew from Montana and Miami New England is about symmetrical

We had very heavy rain this morning: 16.0mm fell in a short time period. This takes December 2021 up to 115.8mm, against a long term average of 86.9mm. The year stands at 812.9mm, against an average of 834.3mm. I don't believe that the average will quite be reached, but then again today's rainfall was far higher than forecast, so it might do.

Finally some proper climate normals for Summit Camp. The normal is based on a coupled serie from 3 nearby stations 4415, 4416, 4419 For all climate elements 4415 is prioritized up until and including 1994-06. Thereafter 4416 is prioritized up until and including 2018-12. Thereafter data from 4419 is prioritized.

I am looking for a particular website that use some sort of smileys to determine whether the weather conditions are comfortable or not. It could be from Seven/Nine News weather, but I do remember seeing such smiley on a website tbh. Anyone know what website/weather program I am talking about? (especially the Aussie users here)

Mt. Charleston to the west of Las Vegas reported 10" of precip last month, 5" in one day. The snowfall stats might be right but the liquid number can't be. The two stations in Las Vegas, the airport and WFO, got 0.13 and 0.14" around the same time. Las Vegas WFO averaged 58/39 and 0.36" for the month.
Edit: It actually seems right. I checked for more stations on NOWData and there are a few SNOTEL sites that saw a bunch of rain and snow that day and similar high totals for the month. Must have been a crazy storm.
