Weatherzone received a massive update today. Cons: -The lightning tracker is now completely behind a paywall - Cannot find complete climate data for any stations yet-A whole section on 'long range rainfall' in the forecast which seems useless Some stuff is still 'coming soon' according to the website so these might change. Edit: Found the climate data. It's right underneath the current temperature for the station under 'more observations'. Another con is that some forecast locations have for whatever reason been omitted, and worse yet, replaced with non-representative locations. Most notably: Burrinjuck (replaced by Yass!); Crookwell (replaced by Taralga!); Shooters Hill (replaced by the unrealistically warm "Oberon" forecast which often forecasts warmer than bloody Bathurst!). I also don't fancy the new "Last Five Days" section one bit—the classic WZ colours have saddly been removed. EDIT: Another big con! Completely unusable on mobile and the forecast is displayed in an ugly list format with none of the details that the PC version has. Fuck this anti-mobile discrimination.

Yeah, massive dick move.
I know exactly why they did it too. The radar is now dynamic, which means you can scroll from the national level down to the local level by scrolling on the radar itself. They used that as an excuse to make the whole lightning feature a paid feature, because before it was only the local level that was behind a paywall.
I wonder if you can leave feedback somewhere

For those knowledgeable about Aussie weather...
Which area in Australia records the most snow? I'm placing my money on Thredbo Top Station, Falls Creek and Charlotte Pass. But maybe it's another location that I wouldn't have a clue on.

But maybe it's another location that I wouldn't have a clue on. Most certainly the exposed peaks on the northwestern slopes such as Watsons Crags, Mount Jagungal, etc. You might ask about the Victorian Alps farther south, but those aren't nearly as exposed to Nor'Westers as the aforementioned NSW peaks. As for Thredbo Top, Falls Creek, Charlotte Pass? They wouldn't even get close—as they're not truly windward; and in the case of Charlotte Pass, a sheltered valley on the lee.

Its climate table says otherwise. Its winters are very wet. I thought it was a very windward place. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlotte_Pass,_New_South_Wales#Climate

^Oh yeah, after some simple research it turns out that Spencers Creek is the snowiest place in Australia. Is it even a legit place? It doesn't even have a Wikipedia article, nor I could find it properly on Google Maps. I take it that it's a small region?

Runoff data for the exposed western slopes suggests upwards of 3,000 mm annually, so yes, Charlotte Pass is rather dry by comparison. Not wet at all for its altitude. It also has warm maxima for its altitude and PoR (1930–2015)—on account of its sheltered valley location that tends to avoid the persistent cloud cover of the exposed western peaks. Its July max is only 1° C cooler than Cabramurra's despite being almost 300 m higher.

Wrong: Spencers Creek is only the snowiest spot actually measured by Snowy Hydro, but nowhere near as snowy as, say, Watsons Crags due to being much more sheltered from the W/NW.

Can you give me examples of these very exposed wet areas on the western slopes, if they have a climate station/data? Curious to see. And what places would you say are "truly windward"? Are Batlow and Tumut decent representatives?

Are Batlow and Tumut decent representatives? Runoff data, meaning that collected from rivers and the like— not climate data: theaustralianalpsnationalparks.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/water-quality.pdfAnd yes, Batlow and Tumut are perfect examples of truly windward areas. Cabramurra is the highest-elevated truly windward station in NSW.

Thanks for the link btw.
