There are always plenty of comments/complaints about a 'dead shoutbox'.... well really?.... its simple physics/mathematics.... the world does have different timezones, people have other lives and interests outside of an obscure weather forum with a membership of 150 or thereabouts... just sayin'....
Before my time of course, but there was a real concern by older members here of an 'Aussie takeover' after the demise of Weatherzone Forums back in 2019...
Really ? I doubt Aussies actually gave a fuck in reality.... lol.
But to my mind, membership growth relies upon variety of cultures, diverse ethnicites, diverse climates, diverse hemispheres, diverse outlooks on life in general...
So I sorta get where old mate Ariete is coming from....
So to be fair... climate battles rarely have more than 15 votes cast, often only 10 or so or even less.... so likely the concept has been done to death as far as interest worldwide goes... simply no one particularly gives a shit for battles outside of CONUS or anywhere else in the West.
Now personally I don't mind 'em, but even I dont really comment on places I have not much interest in....
But to keep interest up, ya gotta tell a story, b/s or otherwise, it doesn't matter.... make it interesting ( if possible ) ie tell a story, make a social comment. ie invite an opposing view, get some comment happening....
Even old mate AA, despite his combative and often obnoxious confrontational method of posting, sure as shit increased the post counts....
The loudest commentators about the 'dead forum' are the least active posters it would seem....
It's all about the 'P' word.... participation.... ya don't participte well of course the place will die a natural ( slow ) death.
