Worst of all though it looks like there's a power outage in Fort Smith. Hopefully no data lost.

When I left home today at 8am it was 72F.
When I came back at 6pm it was 80F.
I'll call today an 80/72F day. There is a chance it will get cooler than 72F before midnight, although not by much.

Lytton, BC has been evacuated due to the nearby fire I see a 40c reading in fat north central Saskatchewan. Which station is that? It was Stony Rapids, they hit an hourly high of 39.8C which would be a new all-time record for them, beating out their previous one of 36.7C.

Mayor Polderman might be correct in their assessment.

Temps still in the 40s in the Thompson-Okanagan region today. Two major fires of note - one northwest of Kamloops and one near Lillooet. ... Satellite view of the same fires. Edit #1: the Lytton one is the small one at the bottom of the field of view. Edit #2: actually, the one burning the town down is a new fire not shown on this sequence.

This would be a hot four day stretch in Jasper, Texas, let alone Jasper, Alberta. Crazy!

Yeah Lytton will burn to the ground. Nice storms that even meteoman or beercules would envy:
