^^^ And you wonder why you get ridiculed, Babu. Heat index or whatever has nothing to do with how hot you feel while going for a run or some shit. It is meant to be a formula to derive the sensation of ambient shade temp. Come on, if you run long enough or do enough star jumps it could feel like 40C in your proportionally proportionate body when it is 20C outside. Would that make sense as a meteorological observation? No Humidex is malarky end of story. If some latte sipping asian yoga student in Vancouver thinks its 47C because she done 5 mins of jogging in place then more power to her. Off topic, but just wondering if you think wind chill is BS too. I know I do!

42.6c at Kamloops. I think that's a new all time record (data back to 1890).

Tomorrow will be even hotter. 18z HRRR is showing 42-45c temps east of Vancouver into the Fraser Valley.

Thanks to this tweet it states how to find current data for stations. This is how am able to check.
Before seeing this I always wondered how people were getting the real time temperatures when in record high low territory, this must be it.
Lytton has updates every minute.

Bit more humid out there than I expected. With 100+ temps I thought dews would be in the 30s and 40s, but SeaTac had a dew of 64 as it hit 100 today, and PDX had a dew of 55 as it hit 111 today. Moisture naturally puts a lid on heat potential, so those dews make the situation even more absurd.

I was finding the forecasts 3-4 days too extreme to be believed. Hot damn was I wrong. Enjoy and/or stay safe!
In terms of timing it reminds me of the June 2019 heat wave in southern France that smashed the national record and saw some places improving their all-time record by more than 5°C. Completely whacky events.

Wonder if/when I'll get any storms out of this heat. The CAPE values are off the charts (5500 J/kg just east of Seattle) in the region but...

Absolutely mind boggling. I believe the 41.3°C at Port Alberni might be the all-time record for Vancouver Island.
