Something has gotta give after the soupy conditions of the last few days....plenty of activity inland, just cant quite make it into coastal Darwin.

Here's a couple of obscure March stats just to confirm what some are thinking.... Who thinks it has been a hot, humid but dry, start to the month ? Well indeed, would you believe, the first 6 days of March has only yielded 0.2mm at the Airport. This is the equal driest start since records began in 1942. First 6 days of March lowest totals ( Airport ) 2022 - 0.2mm 2016 - 0.4mm 2014 - 0.2mm 1987 - 7.6mm 1985 - 9.6mm 1983 - 3.8mm ( but ended up with 676mm total ! ) 1951 - 2.5mm Honourable mention to only this time last year - the first 13 days of March 2021 = 7.2mm. And the first 10 days of March '87 = 7.6mm The driest March: 1978 - 88.0mm 2014 - 92.4mm 1987 - 93.0mm 1961 - 94.4mm Our wettest March was back in 1977 with 1013.6mm ! Of particular interest re the stats from March 1977 was that 16 days recorded 5mm or less rainfall and 10 of those days less than 2mm. As far as heat goes, no records broken. ( except the broken record whinging re the insufferable humidity and dp's lol ). We are running 1.3c above the monthly mean max of 32.0c. The min temps are exceptionally warm at the moment and the Airport is +2.8c above the monthly mean min of 24.6c. ps/- bring on some more rain !!
