first snowfall of the season in the Whites, Adirondacks and Greens too Speagles84. from the Mount Washington Observatory An upper-level low will remain over or near the region through this forecast period, leading to conditions remaining generally unchanged. Temperatures during the period look to fall and stay below normal for this time of year on the higher summits as north/northwest flow keeps cold air funneling into the region. Today will see mainly dry weather and slow clearing across the North Country, but continued summit fog as low-level moisture is forced up and over. Clearing will continue overnight in most areas besides the highest summits. On Wednesday, the low will drift southward a bit closer to our area resulting in increased chances for some precipitation, especially late. Temperatures look to be cold enough for precipitation at the higher summits to fall as plain snow, but any accumulations are expected to be light. Summit fog is also expected on Wednesday but some partial clearing may be possible as winds relax. With temperatures below freezing, and summit fog expected, icing also looks likely with icy trail conditions possible tonight through Wednesday at elevations above 5000 feet. Added traction is advised if planning to travel to the higher summits. Precautions should also be taken to minimize exposed skin during this forecast period as the risks of frostbite and hypothermia will be elevated.www.mountwashington.org/experience-the-weather/higher-summit-forecast.aspx

We hit 30C again this afternoon! It's cooled down to 29C now but still very warm for late September. The weird thing is that it's completely cloudy outside, it looks quite gloomy and cool and you'd never guess it was this warm just by looking outside.

Seem to be able to hit the 30C there easier than here, maybe the low humidity there? Max of just above 29C here today.

We do seem to be a bit more prone to temperature extremes than you guys overall. Got a forecast low of 12C tonight, possibly our last low above 10C until late spring next year. We'll see.

Daaaamn, we've got a thunderstorm going on here! Just saw a massive bolt of lightning out my window! It started raining quite hard for a few minutes a little bit earlier but I didn't think much of it, but looks like it's a legit thunderstorm. I think this might be the latest in the year that I've ever seen one.

We had a few drops of rain here, but not even 0.01". The last measurable rain we had was on September 5 I believe. I did see some cloud-to-ground lightning a couple hours ago

High was 83 (28 c) today, the last warm day for awhile. October hits 80 about 75% of the time so probably not the last of the year.
Through 28 days, the month is now averaging 84.6/50.1 (29/10 c). That would be the warmest ever by 0.3 f but unfortunately the last 2 days will be cool so it won’t get the record.
6/7 hottest Septembers have been since 2010. Also 8 of the last 10. Since 2010, September has an 80 f average high which is insane. That and June have been really warm while May and February have been chilly.

had some basic thunder and a few lightnings tonight, but was much less than the epic red on 3 sides around me on the radar would suggest. The rain was insane though, easily more rain during the 10 minute rage than during the whole year to date. My PWS is fucked so didn't record any, nor did the airport cos of localisation issues.
Well, at least saw some lightning, and had some thunder, and I was watching the radar all day, all the lightning in New South Fuckhead just ported around the Hay Gays, which is excellente'

forecast for the White Mountains (showing Gorham on the Northeast side of the White Mountains) has rain the next few days higher up in the mountains have snow. not sure if this is Mount Washington, if not right below while further south in Western MA (Greenfield, MA) upper level low is the cause; mostly missing us centered further north. after it passes, looks like a rain system is passing thru southern New England but might miss further north

Correct Adi, I posted this earlier in the evening when the low was 67. Actually got down to 56 last night. 71/61 at Central Park. I seriously don't understand why you keep posting LGA and pretending it's your obs. Everyone is on to you. If you want to still post it, label that garbage and include other stations.
