Fucking hell Cairo Montenotte, looking at that graph they had nearly 150mm in an hour. Can't even imagine how heavy that is

Dammit just as I suspected that bad boy hit Liguria badly. Surprised the heaviest totals are to the north of the divide line and not on the Mediterranean side, but they're quite close anyway. The Genoa area does have crazy Autumns. Nearly 1000 mm in one day is nuts.

Rain is coming from the southeast. Odd. Monsoon?

Genoa is at the ass end of the Gulf of Genoa, there are no sizeable valleys or lowlands at all it's also better placed for orographic lift under southerly flows compared to the Nice area which faces the southeast.

Temperature contrasts: Warsaw has stayed at 20C with sunshine this afternoon, while Tallinn airport has not got over 11C with some drizzle. Mild, overcast in the morning, partly sunny in the afternoon here. Min 12C and max 17C at Riga airport.

OK, the actual 24-hour rainfall total in Rossiglione is 34.7" (882 mm), but it doesn't make it any less impressive

Yesterday maxed at just 5.7° C here and 5.4° C at Hunters Hill; anomalies for maxima currently running at –5° C this month. Unusual to get such a negative anomaly in spring these days, considering how much spring has warmed and dried since the 2000s.

Disgustingly smokey again the last couple of days here, this time from a fire near the eastern border of the province. Hopefully it clears up soon, it's pretty obnoxious to be dealing with this so late in the season.
Also, my recent trip to Vancouver reminded me how much I appreciate moisture and greenery, something we haven't had nearly enough of this year. And slow paced seasonal changes, the trees were still largely green out there while we're almost done losing our leaves already. Give me and extra couple months of the shoulder seasons, please!

Min 10C and max 18C at Riga airport. Dry, partly sunny, but unfortunately very windy, a southerly, southeasterly wind has reached 19 meters per second in Riga today.

High/low of 71/62 under mostly cloudy skies and easterly winds. Perfect and comfortable, just how October should be.

High was 77 (25 c) but a bit more “humid” than recent days with dews in the 40s and cloudy skies.
TWC has a cold snap next week with temps in the low 50s and rain. Pretty shitty but hopefully it gets downgraded and the rain becomes snow which would be great.
